Hey guys, What would you guys recommend for the composition of a competitive Harad list using Scorpion's Sting? Lots of Watchers of Karna, but I'm a bit lost on what to do after that. What do you guys think? |

I really like to back my watchers of karna with serpent guards. This allows the watchers to feint and retain their fight 4. Plus it affords me three atk dice which get to reroll 1s. The watchers 2 dice for feinting and the guards get a reroll for their special rule |

I would also consider the Serpent Riders. Of course, they are as fragile as harad troops can be, but they are very good for their points, with poisoned lances and fight 4. |

I'm really intrigued by Harad, but have never played them, so I'm a little uncertain as well. If you want to use Scorpion's sting, then it would seem you want to be sure to take The Betrayer as one of your heroes, and be sure to upgrade your archers to Warriors of Karna for the 3+ shooting. But The Betrayer is expensive, which prevents you from hording out, so I'm not sure if he makes sense at say 500 points. I'd think he's a must at over 500. Here's a possible 500 point list: Warband 1 The Betrayer on Horse 3 Haradrim Warriors (Warrior of Karna upgrade + bow) 3 Watchers of Karna w/bow 5 Serpent Guard Warband2 Haradrim Chieftain 3 Haradrim Warriors (Warrior of Karna upgrade + bow) 3 Watchers of Karna w/bow 5 Serpent Guard Warband 3 Haradrim Chieftain 2 Haradrim Warriors (Warrior of Karna upgrade + bow) 2 Watchers of Karna w/bow 6 Serpent Guard I'm not sure if I love this list. But it does have The Betrayer, maxes out 3+ shooting numbers, and maxes the number of spears with re-rolls. And I tried to keep it as cheap as possible, but it's still only 35 models, which feels small to me. Especially when enemies are going to carve through your force given your low defense. But maybe the 2 attack Watchers of Karna help offset your ability to win fights, and maybe the re-rolls help you wound better, which might offset your weaknesses. It's hard to say how effective this force would be without playing it a bit, but it might be fun to try. |

Serpent Guard are harder to get now though. What are your thoughts on Haradrim Warriors with bows upgraded to Warriors of Karna? |

Ah - you're right. I thought you could still get Serpent Guard from GW, but looks like not. In that case, I'd probably swap the Serpent Guard for Watchers of Karna without bows. If you need some spear support, just regular Haradrim Warriors with spears are fine, but the Watchers 2 attacks are huge, as you just win so many more fights. Yes - I'd upgrade all of your archers to Warriors of Karna. The success of your force is largely dependent upon shooting, so increasing your ability to hit from 50% to 67% is huge. |

The betrayer is very important in many harad armies. I recommend sticking him in a warband heavy in archery so you can take advantage of his special rule |

Most of the good haradrim models are oop for a long time and believe this is a basic reason why we don't see much of this army, while we would see a lot of it because it is rather competitive. I really hope the new time is going to bring back those serpent riders/guards etc etc. |

If possible, just take Watchers and ignore the upgrade. For only 1 point more then the upgraded warrior, they have a better fight value, one extra attack and two extra rules. |

I agree with Dikey. The only reason to ever use the Karna upgrade is if you're going to put them on a Mumak. Otherwise, the upgrade is worthless. |
