Thanks all, I've done some more to the mini now and also I have gone for a monochrome background so as to get a look at it in full black and white perspective, I have to say that I am going to have to adjust my set up for taking photos with this type of background but so far I am happy, I think the dress has come out ok and I don't really want to do anymore to it as I think it has gone light enough.

There are a couple of places that need a touch over or another little highlight/ shade but altogether I like how it is going.

I've never seen a model painted in only black and white before. It's a really interesting idea. Looks great!

nice, really cool work. It's just a coincidence, but I'm also trying right now a mini with only black and white paints. Any tips to give?

Thanks in advance!

Not a fan of the model, but that is one hell of a paint job so far Tim!

Thanks everyone, sadly I have had to put Medusa aside for a little while as I have just had a commission come in for over 20 Celtos miniatures that the customer wants asap plus another one for 12 Space Marines as well. I have done the first two Celtos figs and will be starting the next one today, the bases are not done yet, they will be done when I have a few finished to make the basing job less tedious.

Sadly this does mean that Lotr for me is a little while off, but no I am out of work this is my only source of income and it isn't going to make me a rich man.

The cloak on Celtos No.2 is astonishing! Beautiful work, Tim.

Every time i see your painting I am amazed. Great job on the cloak as Dorth said.

 The cloak is amazing as others have said. The skin on the first one doesn't look quite up to your usual standard though, does the customer want them to be painted to a tt or display standard?

Astonishing!

Mind sharing your skin-painting technique?

Thanks all this commission is all tt standard, you won't get the best for just 4 pounds a mini.

Tim has done some great tutorials. Legolas and a Rider of Rohan. His skin techniques are in there and are a true inspiration.

Thanks everyone, this is the first of four servitors and a techmarine that I am doing for a friend on facebook as a commission. I am doing the Celtos and this commission side by side having done three Celtos minis I thought it about time I did one or two of these so here is the first one.

I am a bit disappointed with how the red appears in the photo as it is alot more defined in natural lighting but never mind as long as the guy is happy with the end result that is all that matters.

I've seen better results from you, but as you say yourself, tabletop-quality...

LOL!!
I wish my best work only was like 25% as good as your tabletop-quality, I would be so proud! haha!

Wonderfull paintjobs once again Tim, and sorry to hear about the job! Hope you get paid a little more then only 4p / mini, cause if not, I'll be very tempted to send you a couple of hundred figures for commision! :D

The reddish, irritated, infected look to the skin where the tentacles are coming out of his arm looks really cool....and rather disturbingly, painfully real! :yay:
