As a distraction from the day to day drudgery of life, in between other more important projects, I have been quietly working on a diorama based on a Japanese style garden. The model is designed to fit inside a Bonsai pot and is approximately 8" (200mm) long.

Done roughly at 30mm scale, I plan on using some of Eureka Miniature's warrior frogs range to build the scene of an assassination attempt against the "Jolly Frog King" (JFK for short) by a lone turtle gunman on a grassy knoll.

Dave, Greg is working out the rules for this game and it's really quite neat (and very original). We've been asked to focus on this one and get it finished in time for Historicon next July, so Rayguns! might be going a little slowly in the meantime.

 This is looking to be one epic - though rather hilarious - diorama. The work is superb, just like normal. I especially like the tree, it can be hard to make one that looks twisted, but also realistic. :yay:

This diorama looks great! very peaceful yet has humor to it at the same time. I find the wooden rail on the bridge is too 'clean' for my liking. Over all tho - epic! 8)

A true masterpiece!

Heheh, that's because the frogs are too short to use the hand rail.

It doesn't look like it's 2 metres in length.:p I agree Drumtastic, If the bridge were just a little bit more weathered looking, It'd be perfect.:)

It looks great though.;)

If it is meant represent a Japanese bridge then it doesn't need changing. They maintain their historical temples, gardens and whatnot very well.

I think it looks good as it is, but I'm no expert at terrain, or bridges for that matter, but I really like how it looks right now.

I agree with emperor thompson.
The Japanese knew a thing or two about maintenance and would have kept this in pristine condition. If anything, perhaps an extra highlight to the edge of the handrail, just along the raised middle section of the bridge.

Thanks Rueben, I've corrected the measurement.

The photo doesn't do the colour scheme enough justice. There are highlights along the edges of the bridge's handrails and even a slight bit of weathering too. I didn't want to make it look ancient and weatherworn, since this is supposed to be based on a Japanese scene and they have an enormous pride in their gardens, maintaining them regularly.
