this guy here is comparing the 2. I think I like the Wargames version little bit slighter of build, for that you seem to sacrifice some detail. As great as these work for Dunlenders I think they make even better Rohirrim. As I build my foot army to man Helms Deep I think I will definetly be adding a bunch of these to Rohan, maybe even some of the unarmoured ones and ancient Germans to represent the even less prepared/equipped Rohan farmers and ferriers

Yes.

The wargames factory figures are perfect.

I plan on getting some myself to fill in for Dunlanding and Rohirrim.

so Saxons equate to Rohirrim and Vikings to Dunlend...even historically it seems.

Really? I thought it was the other way around. You should use ancient germans for wildmen of dunland.

I dont like the "wildman" look they gave them from the films....As far as a historical background read some of the storys about the Vikings invading England and the Saxons fending them off. That and Tolkien based loosely based the Rohirrim on Saxon mythos and a " I wish England had Cavalry" pipe dream. So it works for me but this whole things fantasy anyway and if you cant have fun then whats the point. I would use those Germans for something more like the Ruffians, or Sharkeys Rogues since those models were...lacking.

I've already sorted this out. I have settled on the Gripping beast Viking Hyrdmen. I have already converted 7 of them to have bows.

Are all the issues with Wargames Factory sorted out? I'd like to get both Vikings and Orcs, but not until I'm positive I'll actually GET them!

I think its getting there shipments are starting to arrive. one of my friends ordered some of their stuff through a retailer and the box quality was sub par at best, seemed they went super cheap on boxes just to get the orders out.

They became super cheap on boxes before the take over. Several retailers have some stock on hand, but the one I know hasn't even received a reply, let alone merchandise on orders placed 3 months ago. Buying from a store who has what you want in hand should be fine. Please not that the orcs were never release so retailers don't have them.

I thought of useing army of the dead for duninglings. i have the old metal ones and decided to convert a banner and captain. they look pretty decent so i might buy a box or two of plastic army of the dead. and before anyone says they used them for carn dum warriors i thought of the idea before wotr came out!
