Now, I would like a clarification regarding backing away. Is backing away legal and successful as long as you move in a straight 1" line and does not end up in base contact with an enemy? (Ignore any terrain features for now, I think I got a handle on those rules.) Thus, can you back away "sideways" instead of directly away from the enemy, as long as you don't move over an enemy/friendly base and don't end up in base contact with an enemy?
