Just curious about the problems with enamel paints being used on miniatures. I know that you are NOT supposed to, but can anyone tell me why???

thanks

I used to use enemal paints. The results were dreadful and nigh impossible to improve.

I started off using them, and they can work OK on GW miniatures (although I haven't tried Finecast). However, the GW paints are just easier to use, the colours match the guides so you can get the effect you want without spending ages mixing the right shades, and they dry really quickly so you can paint much quicker. Add to that the lack of any bad smell, and you're on to a winner.

I agree with everything that LotrCrown has said.
....Also enamels have to be thinned down with nasty-smelling, toxic products  whereas plain old water is good enough for citadel colour or vallejo :D One of my friends used to use humbrol paints on WOMT....I stopped myself from making quite harsh comments about his paint choice.
