are sentinals worth it having one or two or should i dump it for more spears

I'd drop Haldir for a Stormcaller. I think the Sentinel is worth it.

Pretty solid, althought I'd "downgrade" one, or possibly even two, of your Heroes in order to fit in some more models.

so drop rumil or haldir for a captian?

Never drop Rumil Downgrading him to a captain loses not just a point of Might, but that all-important special rule. He will more than make back the points difference no matter how small your army is.

Downgrading Thranduil to a stormcaller in a 500 point army is better, because at that point numbers count more than one blast of Nature's Wrath and his 2+ shooting. You get potentially more Nature's Wraths, and some extra warriors to take advantage of it.

+1 that Rumil is a no-brainer swap above a Captain for such a small point difference. I need to mock up some lists though regarding Thranduil. I always thought he was a good investment for his points even with just the one special rule. True, if you are tight on model count the extra points can be another 2 Elves potentially.
