Post subject:  Are GW okay with conversions?

Hi guys,
If I convert high elf swordsmen and archers into spearmen and swordsmen and archers into swords with shields, would it be safe to bring them into a GW store?

Also, would they mind me using a converted mordheim Mage as ambled stormcaller?

Thanks
LordElrond

Conversions made from other LotR models are allowed and even encouraged. LotR minis converted from their other ranges is a much greyer area. I'd ask before I brought them in.

They're ok if you bring in GW miniatures but using other companies minis... they will most likely say no to using them even in substitute of a mini they might not produce.

If GW makes it, it's fine. If you use an item here or there not from GW, but 75%+ is a GW model on show, it's okay.

The area of LotR and non-LotR is that you can do it and be allowed to play, but they can't use pictures of those models anywhere.

Has anybody ever tried using there older ranges to see what they see. With that I mean stuff from the 1980's?

This is fine. I even took the old fellowship to warhammer world (I went to Nottingham Uni) and a few of the old boys got all misty eyed. I think if you get a new member of staff in a local store they might be suprised, but Im sure they'll know that they were old citadel mini's
