Warband question/clarification

Sorry for all the questions but just want to clarify.

So large creatures (such as Ents or Trolls) that are not heroes have to be attached to a Warband with a hero? They cannot be their own unit? So in turn I have to attach my Troll to an orc Warband and they count as one model?

Yes they must be attached, No they cannot be on their own (unless otherwise stated in their profile). Yes, an Orc, Uruk, or any other suitable warband
