I know the stats of the attacker are used... but the rules try to reflect reality, and the reality is that the poisoned spears of Serpent Guards would still be poisoned if they supported an attack. So should I roll a different colored die for them when they support, in case they roll a 1 for their Poison Re-Roll special rule? Or does the poison disappear when they support an attack?

No, the supporting model does not contribute the poison special rule to the combat.

If you need to justify it then think of it more as that spear poking around is a distraction to the opponent that allows the real attacker a better chance of getting in a good hit (so the increased dice represent the increased odds of scoring a solid wound).

Just don't try poking at me with a poisoned spear and we'll call it even.
