In the new Fallen Realms book, the Mahud warrior and Mahud raider both have a shield as part of their standard equipment. The FAQ pdf on GW's site states that Mahud with shield and blowpipe get a +1 to the Defence value. I though if a shield is already included in the standard equipment, donot add +1 to Defence. I am confused. Please help clarify this rule to me. Thanks. |

I think what they mean is the blowpipe does not have the effect a bow has on shield-carrying warriors. A warrior with a bow + shield does not benefit from the +1D a shield gives, though they can use the "shielding" rules. See Lurtz as an example. So a Mahud can carry a blowpipe, and the shield acts normally. |
