Greetings, all. I have a question on the Golden King model. My Harad army represents one of the other many tribes. I am working on altering my Suladan model somewhat to represent a different king, but during game play will use existing Profiles to keep things simple and legal. Based on points and personal whim I could use him as a Haradrim King or with Suladan’s profile easy enough. I’ve also been considering using the Golden King’s profile but expect that I would need an appropriate sized custom base for him to stand on to make it legal. It appears from the pic that the model just uses two standard bases separated by some small amount. I was thinking a custom oval base where my foot and/or mounted version could stand would be good. I would appreciate if someone has the model though and can give me a pretty good measurement of total length and width (does it come out any wider in the middle than the round bases themselves)? advTHANKSance! |

The Golden King model by itself (Throne+King without abrakhan guards) is : -lenght approximately 5cm -height approximately 7cm (include banner) |

I can tell you the King on his throne by himself is as tall as a metal mahud Warrior. Mine's still in the blister sooo...can't really measure him. He is really tall though, around twice the height of a metal model. |

Seeing as part of his rules includes a comment on his wierd base, I wouldn't try proxying anything as him, or him as anyone. Just paint him differently. I definitely recommend using him, he is a GREAT combat hero, but he can get shot rather easily, but with the new rules it isn't that big a problem. However, his greatest strength is his ability to make heros flee. Save his Will as much as you can until your enemy breaks. 2 great examples I have was one battle, Dain rolled snake eyes on his Stand Fast roll, so I made him flee by expending all my Will. He had been untouched the entire game and had even killed a Dragon Knight, so it was awesome to make him flee like that. The other example was a nearly fully powered Bolg was forced to flee in the same manner. Kinda off topic, but in short, definitely take him, however you manage to pull it off. |

Since I wasn't confident in superglue's ability to last long with two Abrakhan guards hanging off those thin rods, I put the whole thing on a base...fits perfectly on a Mordor Troll base. |

Alas I have no suitable camera anymore, but it's not painted yet anyway...part of my endless backlog. |

"endless backlog" Yep. Me too. Planning this now, but may be months before I touch it. At least the cost of new minis is helping me focus on my backlog. |
