Can I just clarify...
If you take the mumakil for 250pts, does that include the Chieftan and 12 crew or just the chieftan?

Page 32 of the Fallen Realms book, the first paragraph under the section: "Crew".
I think your points are wrong too.

Ah sorry, I dont have the fallen Realms book. Im looking in the HARAD source book from a few years ago its 275pts not 250, but am I right in thinking you get the commander AND 12 more models included in that price?

Unless something major changed with the new book you only get the commander. You can load up with UP TO 12 crew, but you pay for each of them, and there is a limited list of which models you are allowed to put up there.

A basic fully crewed Mumuk will come in just under 350 (12 basic Haradrim warriors). But they're pretty useless up there unless you get the 'rocks' upgrade so if you give them bows your minimal USEFUL fully crewed Mumuk will be just under 360.

In WotR your crew was included in the price of the Mumuk (and I think it cost 250). Maybe that's what you are remembering?

Yeah, the new rules say that other members of the warband (of the right troop type) may ride in the howdah.

So you pay for the Mumak and commander as the leader of a warband, then you can pay for up to 12 other members of the warband. Some or all of those 12 may begin the game in the howdah if they are the right type of troop.

The commander is included in the price (though you have to pay for the Mahud version upgrade), but the troops aren't as there are many different types you can use.

WHA!?!? No way, is that the way it really is? Seems crazy. The way it is listed in the FR's new sourcebook, I'd read that as they are included. Man, I bet I am totally wrong after seeing you all weigh in on this. ...jeez...
