Ok, this may very well be a very nooby question :D

RoR have a bow as standard equipment.
You can upgrade them with throwing spears.
Can you now alternate them in game?
Can you use your bow in turn X when they're out of reach for throwing spears, but then use your throwing spears in turn Y when they are in reach?

Another thing, if your rider gets thrown off, which equipment would you still have if your rider had shield, bow, and throwing spear?

A RoR that is given throwing spears does still have a bow. So, yes, he may use his bow in turn 1, his spears in turn 2, bow again in turn 3 if you so wished.

When dismounted, you choose to keep either the bow, or the shield and the throwing spears.

I believe that when you get dismounted, you can choose to keep the shield and throwing spear or the bow and throwing spear.

Can you throw a spear in the move phase then shoot your bow in the shoot phase?

No, I don't think so. Not in the same turn (would be logical?).

You cannot use more than one shhoting weapon twice in the same turn. It says so somewhere in the rulebook.

Unfortunately not pal... once the throwing spear is thrown during movement phase you must complete the charge (throwing spear is thrown during the charge... if not, it is thrown during the shoot phase instead of the bow.)

From the rulebook pg 71;

Quote:
If the original target is slain, the charger may complete his move in any way the controlling player wishes

This is no longer correct, you keep all your equipment but lose the Defence bonus for having a shield. Re-read the new rules for 'Expert Rider'.

I see what you mean but pretty certain you only shoot one weapon per turn and the thrown spear during the charge in the movement phase counts as that regardless of killing the target or not :)

The key here is that if you use the throwing spear while charging an enemy, whether you have to base him or not is irrelevant, you are charging and you may not shoot a bow in the same turn you charge.

Thanks guys!
The new rulebook is quite expensive so I haven't bought it yet, will do so in the future.
Just needed to clarify this matter, which you guys did!

So I keep shield, bow, and thr spear, but I lose the defence bonus.
But I can still use the shield in the fight phase to double my dice right?

Yes, it's very handy.
