Hello

I know it is not clearly an official rule, but what kind of rules would you use for this barrier?

Image

It is approximately half the size of the miniature (~15mm).
When rolling to cross add a -1 to the jump chart? If 1 maybe a strenght 1-2 hit? Can 2 models move it as a heavy object?

Thanks for any suggestion.

I think it is open for interpretation however you would like.
It is approximately half the size of the miniature, so I would say the normal rules for a barrier. I don't know the rules exactly for barriers that can hurt a miniature (if there even are rules for that), but the strength 1 or 2 hit on a roll of 1 sounds like a good idea.

Moving scenery pieces might be fun and it has some tactical (dis-)advantages. But most of the barriers are placed before a battle.

This looks very scenario-specific and you'd need to play with the balance, but your suggestions seem reasonable. They might be more effective against cavalry, maybe an automatic S2 hit applied to the horse if charged, but a horse could jump it more easily (the model being taller).

I would say that if an attacking unit loses the combat they take a s1/s2 hit then the defender gets to strike as well. You can always add if they lose the combat with a roll of 1 they take a s3/s4 hit.

As has been said, this is scenario specific so some other benefit must be given to the opposing team to make it fair.

If a horse or anyone fails its jump test for jumping over, they take a S3 hit

Thanks for all the questions. In fact it would be part of a defensive position, so the attacker would surely have a bonus in points.
The thing is that I still don't know if it is overpowered or not if it makes a hit when someone fails to jump it.

The odds are low to fail a jump, and even lower to fail a jump and then get wounded. I don't think it would be worth more than 50-100 points in 1000.

It isn't a palisade wall, so I think both the attacker and defender must have its disadvantages.
The tips of the spears/pikes/wood are on both sides.
Most of the times they are used to break up formations, slow the enemy down and to prevent siege towers to deploy.
