Hi,

I recently got back into the SBG and after perusing the characters in the Hobbit rulebook, I have a question about Wargear.

is the listed Wargear to be taken literally as the only weapons that the character is carrying?

ie. Thorin Oakenshield does not even list a Sword under Wargear though you can purchase Orcrist for an additional 10pts.

Kili doesn't have a sword under Wargear but his model clearly shows him with one.

Ori only has his slingshot listed so are we to assume he does not have a sword as well?

all the Dwarves appear to have a RNG combat skill but does this mean they all have a basic bow? or is it only Kili that has one? or should I go by the models if they appear to have one?

there are other examples as well but these are the ones that spring to mind. I should also add that I do not play with Warbands and points. I only play with the scenarios and characters listed. The scenarios do not clarify any mods with regard to Wargear either.

kili has a bow, ori has no sword and thorin has a sword

All models have a hand-weapon automatically but its not listed in the profiles anymore its just a universal rule. To see what kind of hand weapon you look at the model.
If the hero cannot purchase a bow (or ranged weapon) then they do not have one, the shoot value is listed in case you play any kind of special rules that may allow for picking up weapons by heroes
