If a Monster Hurls a cavalry model:

Does the mount take and cause hits as it passes through and knocks over models, as well as the rider, or do you just do it once for the model as a whole (hear I am thinking the mount is just wargear anyway).

The above question was really thought about due to warg riders...

Once thrown, in most cases the mount is dismissed, as horses would run away anyway... but what about warg mounts? At the end of the throw the orc and warg will be separate, but the warg may stick around if it passes a courage check... that's why I thought it should be taking /causing hits too? (so it could have been killed anyway by the throw, passing through each contacted model, so then wouldn't have a chance to take a courage test if its already dead... and then I thought, if it can be killed by the throw, then should it could hit stuff too...)

Any thoughts on this?

Cheers
Scott

When Hurling a Cavalry model, the Monster Hurls either the rider or the mount, you decide. If your hurl the rider the mount flees (or takes courage tests) as normal, if the mount is hurled then the rider takes usual hits etc, but only one of them is actually hurled.

Ah I see, thanks for that.

The model is knocked prone at the end of the Hurl so both the rider and the mount are Hurled as one (which also means that it's a cavalry size base that is Hurled). Both the rider and the mount take a hit for every model they pass through. If they both survive, then a Warg may take a courage test to stick around.

Similarly, if a cavalry model is Hurled/Blasted into then both the rider and the mount take the hit.

The only exception to this is if a Monstrous Mount charges a cavalry model. As Monstrous Cavalry instantly knock all enemies down, the Monstrous Cavalry model picks either the rider or the Warg to Hurl (assuming the Warg passes its courage test.

Hope that helps buddy
