I've already started a WotR army poll, which is working very well. This is going to be a bit different, as there as so many more SBG army lists. I will vote for the SBG army list I think is the most competitive, it will start on 1pt. The next person will then raise it to 2pts if they agree with my choice, or add another army list if they don't. And so on: if the army list you think is most competitive is an option add 1pt to it, if it's not add that army. Each person gets one vote only, unless I say otherwise. The first three to get to 7pts will be officially (in my opinion) the three best army lists. Right, I'll start:

Fiefdoms - 1pt

AH, finally. I've been watched your thread from on the beginning (just to know where I'm up to when I start WoTR in the far future). Well, I think I vote for Mordor, due to their Trolls, great heroes, nazgul and troop variaty:
Fiefdoms - 1
Mordor - 1

But when I have to choose for a certain army list, I vote for cirith ungol, because they've got almost averything a good army needs.

Yes, a specific army list. So, we're on:

Fiefdoms - 1pt
Cirith Ungol - 1pt

This is interesting, I was expecting only a few candidates but everyone so far has chosen a new army list.

Definetely the most competitive but not the most fun to play. At all.

The Grey Company are very good at some Scenarios, but they have too little variety to be the all round best army.

Who needs variety when you can counter everything?

They'd be terrible in Scenarios when you need lots of models or (to a lesser extent) fast moving models.

So would fiefdoms. Take and hold is pretty much the only scenario they wouldn't excel in.

Fiefdoms can field much more models as the don't have to buy a Dunedain for every four guys; they also, unlike the Grey Company have cavalry. I suspect the Grey Company wouldn't do well in the Scenario "Ill Met by Moonlight", the limited bow range would be a major set back, despite the plus one to wound.

Yeah... but there's no models and they'd be pretty expensive and they're I personally don't think Heroes count.
