Hey, guys. I thought I should start posting these factions up for some "peer review" before they are actually published because you guys might catch something that I had missed due to familiarity. So, I'm going to post up the three Factions that I have completed. Comments/suggestions are welcomed!

As far as the Dwarves go, they were fairly straightforward to update. I have left the Vault Wardens out because they are fairly specialized troops (like Uruk-hai Sappers) and wouldn't really be seen wandering about Middle-earth.

Faction: Dwarves, 1.0

The Dwarves are an old race, as hard as the stone mountains from which they carve their homes. Although they prefer to keep to themselves, Dwarven kinbands can be seen patrolling the areas around their holds or transporting their expertly crafted goods along the trade routes of Middle-earth. Never one to forget the kindness of a friend or the cruelty of a foe, Dwarves wait with sharpened axes to defend their allies and to visit revenge on the ancient enemies of their people.

Starting Company
3 Dwarf Warriors with shields
2 Dwarf Warriors with two-handed axes
2 Dwarf Warriors with Dwarf bows

Equipment
Shield, Two-handed weapon..............1 Inf.
Dwarf Bow..........................................1 Inf.
Dwarf Longbow (Ranger only)...........2 Inf.
Throwing Axes (Ranger only)............2 Inf.
Dwarf Heavy Armor (Hero only)........2 Inf.

Promotions
Dwarf with shield → Khazâd Guard
Dwarf with two-handed axe → Khazâd Guard
Dwarf with Dwarf bow → Dwarf Ranger

Reinforcements (D6)
1 -- No Reinforcement
2 -- Dwarf with two-handed axe
3 -- Dwarf with shield
4 -- Dwarf with Dwarf bow
5 -- Choose one of the above
6 -- Roll again on the table below

Reinforcements (Cont’d)
1-2 -- Iron Guard
3-4 -- Khazâd Guard
5-6 -- Dwarf Ranger with choice of weapon

Special Rules
Hardy -- Dwarves are known for their sturdy constitutions, but some individuals are resilient beyond measure. Whenever this hero is forced to roll on the Hero Injury Table, the player may choose to re-roll the result. The second result stands, even if it is worse than the original.

Loremaster -- The hero has spent years studying the tactics and abilities of his Dwarfhold’s enemies. At the beginning of each turn, before the rolls for Priority have been made, the hero may nominate one enemy model and may nullify one of its special rules for the remainder of the turn.

**A note on Iron Guards**
As Iron Guard are already veteran warriors, they cannot be promoted to Heroes.

iron guard are really strong with 2 attacks maybe they should be availabe as heroes.

ie. add 3rd specail rule name: ? rule: dwarf hero may dual-wield add +1 attack to profile.

I know that Iron Guard are powerful, but no more than any other elite troopers. Given that you only can get them through promotion or 1/18th of a chance of rolling one up for re-inforcements, I wouldn't think they would throw it off too much.

In battle companies iron guards do exceptionally well, as most heroes don't even have two attacks, though for the most part they are not too unbalanced. However, we decided that they couldn't become heroes, otherwise they would become even more powerful and mess up the company ratings as they would cost a lot less than any other hero with similar characteristics.

That seems like a good compromise. I'll add that to the Faction sheet. Also, I'm going to change the promotion table, so that the only way you can actually get Iron Guard is through reinforcements.
