Speak of the devil, I just read the last page of the 2nd book A Clash of Kings, 5 minutes ago...Fantastic series, can't wait for the next three books (ASoS 1&2 & AFfC) to arrive from Amazon, or for the second season of the HBO show to begin.

With regards to rules, I'd love to help but I really shouldn't...I have a University disseration to begin . Also, I don't know if you've seen them before but Darksword miniatures do an amazing A Song of Ice and Fire miniatures range.

Until that comment, I did not relize what you were talking about cReaTive, because I knoow of it on;ly as the TV series Game oof Thrones, I've not bought any books and I'm not American and don't know were to get them from. I second Sacrilige's suggetsion. Also, fpr the Dire Wolves that accompany the Stark children, why not use wargs but with a bodyguard rule - only the rule only works for their specific Stark. Good luck cReaTive.

Ondoher...thanks i didnt realise their was an official company sellin GoT minis...im not really fond of the daenerys or eddard minitures but all the rest look great 8)

sacrilege...yeah ill be defo using boromirs model but not the exact profile

Gothmog..you should really pick up the books, im sure you could order them online off Amazon or something. I was thinking of something like that but seeing as they have a kind of spiritual connection a bit moe of an advanced bodyguard rule and maybe use the warhammer dire wolf models

Im not sure wether people would have enough interest in this to put my work up on the site though

This could also go in the Profiles Thread in Off Topic.

He shouldn't have any Fate points.

I still haven't read it.

I think he should. He is a Veteran warrior and an experienced leader after all. It wouldn't do for him to die before his time (i.e. in Battle).

And you should read the first book at least, its fantastic and the best I've read so far. I've read 1 and 2 and have just started the third, but the story is getting so confusing now, its basically a tangled cobweb of plotlines that never get resolved. And from what I gather, it continues like that all the way through book 5 and beyond.

Well, my thinking was that anyone destined to die should have no Fate, but then he doesn't die in normal combat though.

I don't need to read the books just yet as Series 2 begins next month in the UK.

I really need to read these books, this is just another strong review I've heard of them.

@Gothmog: I can see where you are coming from, but most profiles of characters who die in LOTR do still have 1 Fate or even 2 in some cases (Theoden, Isildur). Unless you mean that Boromir was specifically 'doomed' to die as he was corrupted by the ring. :)

It would be nice to have miniatures based off of the tv series. The ones in the link Ondoher provided are alright.

Hi all,

Yesterday my friends and I decided we were going to make Ice and Fire models then I found this post! My first project is turning some Warriors of Minas Tirith into Lannister Soldiers (I've taken it upon myself to build a Lannister army). They'll probably be given the same stats as WoMT as well. Anyway, if anyone else wants to work on Ice and Fire stuff it would be great to see some other people's models and collaborate on house rules for them!

Thanks, I started working on Lannister troops last night and then had a blob of green stuff left so couldn't resist making a start on Jaime in King's Guard armour =-)

How'd you go with your Lannister soldiers pdog? Would love to see pics!

I'm absolutely obsessed with anything related to a Song of Ice and Fire atm with series 2 of Game of Thrones due out in the next cpl of weeks and having just finished the 2nd book. I'm also very intereseted in developing house rules as i'd love to play out some of the battles from the book using the SBG rules. I think a Song of Ice and Fire would be perfect for the warband system as there are just so many heroes!

I'm going to pick up a cpl of the 28mm Dark Sword Miniatures (probably John Snow & GreatJon Umber) and am hoping that they're good quality and fit in ok with my LOTR minis in terms of scale and general style. I'll upload pics and WIP details when I get my hands on them!

Also planning to heavily proxy Lotr troops (& converting as required) for general soldiers and perhaps some Lotr heroes with some characters from a Song of Ice and Fire. If I'm happy with the Dark Sword Miniatures I'll keep picking up more heroes from them to build up my collection.

I think rangers of Gondor would be perfect for the Night's watch, warriors of Rohan could be used for Winterfell troops, dead marsh spectres for the 'Others/white walkers', Minas Tirith citadel guards for the gold cloaks/city watch, Wildmen/Dunlendings for various wildlings, high elves for Dornish soldiers, Knights of Dol Amroth for the kingsguard and lothlorien for other northern soldiers. IMO warriors of Minas Tirith could be used as versatile armoured troops for a lot of the houses but just painted up with different colour schemes.

Anybody got any other ideas? Any feedback would be much appreciated :D

I was looking at the Perry Miniatures sight and I thought their War of the Roses era models would be suitable for A Song of Ice and Fire. In the books the infantry are often described as being armed with pikes, and there are plenty of archers and crossbowmen. The style of armour worn by Knights, particularly in the HBO show, appears to be Late Medieval. i.e. full plate armour, rather than chainmail. So anything between the Hundred Years War and the Wars of the Roses.
