Like (and will probably incorporate) the spears on the back, good job!

Those men at arms look fantastic, and I might just have to steal that whitch king conversion idea! It looks fantastic.

Very well done. For my taste the moranon orcs are a bit too clean, I prefer the look of your orc trackers, but that's just personal.

Nice work.
For the emblems on each banner like the Uruk, then use a very thin black glaze to go over it all and it will just tint the white to blend it in with the black. It will tone down the white to stop it popping out.

Thanks for the comments and tips.

For now I started with the great beast of Gorgoroth. The beast itself is nearly finished. I still need to do the base.
Image

Image

I also started with my dwarf army. From the 300+ models I still need to paint, nearly 100 where dwarfs. So painting this army will hopefully reduce the backlog.
The dwarf host will be divided into three kinbands. The first one will be "The Ravens" with a blue and gold paint scheme. This kinband will be lead by a captain, a banner and Murin and Drar.
The first warriors:

The second kinband will have a red/gold paint scheme led by Balin and the last kinband will be green/gold. I will divide the dwarf warriors and Khazad guard equally among them but I can't figure out what to do with the dwarf rangers.

Shall I paint the cloaks in the same colour as the warriors? Or keep the camouflage and paint it grey?

The Men-at-arms are standout troops for me. Very well done, all of them. Perhaps someday, i too will find the courage to strip and retouch my old minis.

Thanks again for the comments.

I made some progress on the great beast, painted the howdah but still need to do the base.
Image
Image

And I painted the wild warg chieftain. Very beautiful model and a real joy to paint.
Image

Next up where some Black Numenorians. Again I like the models, the resemblance with the mouth of Sauron is great.
Image

And at last some progress on the dwarf forces. A grimhammer captain. Again a very lovely miniature. I'm a big fan of the grimhammers, probably on of the best sculpts on the Hobbit range.
Image

That's it for now, but more dwarfs will follow!
And once again, more pictures on our communityblog:

Thanks,

I made some progress on the dwarfs.
I nearly finished the first dwarfen kinband. I started with some warriors.
As you can see, I mixed the plastic and metal dwarves. The next two kinbands will also be mixed :).

Image
Image

Next up were the leaders of the kinband. A dwarf captain and the banner bearer. I do think their cloaks turned out quite well
Image
Image
Image

I continued with three Khazad guard, giving them also the same painting scheme.
Image

And I repainted Murin and Drar giving them also a matching base and colour scheme.
Image

Some group shots from the whole kinband:

And I even started with two dwarves from the next kinband:

Hope you enjoyed it. Comments and Critics are always welkom :-)
And once again;

Hey Reto :)

Both Kinbands look amazing! Especially the blue one is nice 8)

Both, metal and plastic dwarves, are fitting perfect together. The metal coulour is well choosen and suit the gear:)

Greetings
Advario

So much great work and prolific,
Slight pointer, I suggest toning the yellow down slightly, it's either the photo or its a touch too bright.

I will try adding a glaze to soften the yellow.

Meanwhile I finished some more models.

I present you two members of Thorin's company: Oin and Gloin.
