I like your display cabinet. You just have to fill it up now :)

Yes don't let it remain empty for long. :)

Yes it is :) nice spot. Thought it would be perfect, if only there were more bases like it.

Indeed, love it! The one that comes with Goblog's nice too btw to have someone leaning on.

Thanks kid, I appreciate the feedback :)

I have a few updates coming up but first here is my finished Balin

Here is also a wip of Dori, just his face and a little bit of cloth done. I was really happy with the face and thought it was my best yet but now that I've looked at the photo closeup I can see the left eye is once again giving me trouble. I think it might have something to do with my left eye actually being weaker than my right perhaps some sort of transference into my painting aswell

Post subject:  Re: GD's WIP: Goblins + Weathertop base

Thanks JW I'll need it theres a few amazing entries already.

As promised here is a few more goblins in the works. They are in various stages, left is finished, middle almost and right still needs another skin highlight.
Image

This pic shows what my goblins look like after a base and wash, I then do one layer lighter than the base and 2 layers of progressively lighter highlights.

This is my second attempt at sculpting, it took a few nights to sculpt all the stone flooring of weathertop. I'm planning on doing a diorama of some sort just brainstorming a few ideas with the figures I have available.

Any c&c welcome please

Nicely painted Goblins, and just the right colour too imo 8)

Hey all just a small update, due to my recent low scores on the website coolminiornot I've started to research a few different techniques and trying out a few different painting styles. I've been using a wet pallette to help with my blending and heres a few test runs with this new style.

Here is Eowyn, her eyes are alot more noticeable with the mini in hand, the flash may have had a say in this one.

Image

Here is a Black numenorean steed, I was really happy with the smoothness of blending but it will take alot more practice to get it right.

Please let me know what you think

These look really good. And yes, Eowyn's pupil's are not very prominent...at least in the picture.

The black numenorian steed is really nice. Those colors are just right. Eowyn's face is nice. Try to avoid using the flash if possible.

Yup really good job on the BN horse, you might want to try a highlight on the metal just to make it pop more.

Thanks guys :D Im thinking of highlighting the black numenoreans armor although I do like the dullness it definitely looks in need of highlighting.

Here is a bit of progress on Eowyn, I've only highlighter the bottom part of the dress so far, need to finish the top half still.

Once I'm done I'll get a photo in good lighting without flash for you guys to see 8)

I like the dullness too so please don't do too many highlights.

Kid as my number one follower your wish will be granted. I'll leave the majority dull and try bolder highlights on the captain only.

I didn't realize I was your #1 fan. I will take that responsibility seriously. :-D
I forgot to mention I liked your sculpted coblestone base. The easiest way to make more would be to make a mold of it. I use instimold and press putty into it.
