Sweet conversion and I like the colours too. Definitely makes him look more ethereal. 8)

My entry:

Scenic base, as it is for display and not gaming. I'm not sure what effect I was trying to achieve. At first I went with red robes, but felt it contrasted too strongly with the overall "cold" feel. So I went for a slightly "royal" look, with purple tatters of robes. Also notice the bottom row of scale mail is gold. I went for a dead, graying, but vaguely human skintone, with a very crazy mix of colors. I remember adding green, khaki, red, yellow, gray...lots of different colors. I'm fairly pleased with how this turned out, and glad I actually got my act together and entered for once!

That looks awesome! :yay: The base is sweet too, good work. There's a lot of stiff competition this time around, I like it.

There are some cool entries here - too bad I'm not near a GW, I don't think I could order them in time for these competions :(

Dm, I like them, nice and blue. :-D I like how you painted the face a darker blue than the rest of the body. 8) Though the bronze armour looks like it could do with another wash to add definition. I just noticed the eyes, I really like those too. :D

Great work, DM! My only problem with it is that the flesh (? :?) on the hands is a different color then on the face, it seems like they should possiblly be the same color. Still, really nice work there! 8)

A few updates, and maybe a little friend to go along with this guy. :)
Added some rust to the metal bits and painted the sword the same...didn't think that a bright shiny sword made any sense on this dirty, rotten critter.

Here is a repost of my original entry image:

And, here is my final product. I read over the Barrow Downs chapter before starting this, as I couldn't decide on doing something corporeal, or non-corporeal. Frodo cutting the wight's hand off suggest it was indeed corporeal, so I went that route. I tried to keep in mind that the armor and swords that this wight were wearing might have been really old, perhaps even bronze (if you look close you can see a bit of verdigris in areas). The steel parts have some rust built up after years in a moist environment. All in all I'm very happy with how he turned out.

Colors Used

Red Robes: Reaper Master Series Blood Red Triad with Reaper Master Series Red Shadow. The shadows were also washed with watered down Asurmen Blue Citadel Wash. I weathered the bottoms of the robes using Reaper Master Series Dirt Triad, which really does work wonders.

The bronze armor was painted with Citadel Shining Gold, highlighted with the same mixed with some Citadel Mithril Silver, then washed with watered down Devlan Mud Citadel Wash. A very watered down wash of P3 Arcane Blue was used for the verdigris. The rust was applied using Mig Rusted Pigment. (this was my first time using it and I liked it)

The skin was Reaper Master Series Rotting Flesh Triad, with some Citadel Camo Green for shadow, and Rotting Flesh up to some Skull White used for highlighting.

Thanks mate, you're doing a cracking job too, love the hobbit conversion.

I thought MacG might have had it all wrapped up with his awesome wight posted at the beginning but it is going to be so hard to vote this time around, all the entries have been top notch!
