Nicely done. Only thing that I don't like is the reddish look on the metal to the far left and right.

Hmm, maybe I should have toned down the Devlan Mud wash.

Yeah, but you could just drybrush over it with a metallic colour. 8)

Will do, a light drybrush of Boltgun Metal will complete it nicely. Then, I'll finish it off with a light drybrush of Fortress Grey on the stone. :)

Sounds good. You could also drybrush a few spots on the stone green for a nice weathered feel. A final drybrush of Rotting Flesh usually looks nice too.

I'll wash Thraka Green in the cracks of the stone, which should give a similar effect to what you suggested. :)

Following, Olle's suggestions, here's the result,

Image

The wood needs to be touched up still, due to a little over zealous drybrushing on my part, but other than that it's finished. :)

Thanks, Olle! :)

I'm pleased with it, as it only took me about 15 minutes to finish, and it gave me something to do today while I await my new brush.

Thanks, Gorgoroth. :)

The green was really easy, all I did was take a little watered down Thraka Green, and wash it in the cracks of the stone.

I'll have a new brush by tomorrow, so updates with actual mimi's soon! :D

Hey, everyone. Well, I got a new brush todays, so as promised I have an update for you. :)

Today, I began work on the golden armor of the Khazad Guard, it still needs some touch-ups, but is mostly finished. I also painted the cloth areas today, though I was unable to take any pictures. You can probably expect another update tomorrow.

Looking good.
Have you washed it with Gryphonne Sepia? If not, I'd recommend you to do so, it looks great. :)

Thanks for the comment, Olle. :)

Great minds think alike, I suppose, as I did indeed wash it with Gryphonne Sepia. I think I was a little to vigorous in my last drybrush with Shining Gold, so I'll probably wash it again.

Looking nice there Josh. May I ask how you do your Red?

the armour could use some more depth. If you have a steady hand and a very small bush, try outlining the armour plates with some Chaos black. :)

Thanks for the comment, Sean. :)

I paint all the cloth areas with an even mix of Scab Red and Red Gore, then I wash the recesses with Scab Red. Simply add in Blood Red in increasing amounts to the orignal mixture for highlights. :)

Once I get my fine detail brush, I'll do as you suggest on the armor.

Can I suggest you avoid making these Dwarves the redheads?

What with the cloth, and the reddish gold of the armour, they are going to look like axe wielding tangerines...

I'd suggest green hair and white trousers, but that is Oompah-Loompah territory...

But then you'd need purple skin too!

Er, maybe brown/ black/ grey hair?
