Hi everyone,

it has been a long time since my last update. I have not been doing nothing I have painted over 40 riders of rohan, a troll chieftan, burdhur, a fell beast with the betrayer riding on it and many many more. Gaming wise I have also been playin a lot one of them was the Battle of the Pellenor Fields with my rohan force (I won)
Image

and with the new BotFA release I have decided to pick up my topic and share my progress with this wonderful community. here are some pics of my in between time work.

Image

Image

and now of to some of the armoured mirkwood force I bought 9 archers 9 swordsmen, 9 spearman, a captian, 6 mirkwood cavalry and Thranduil. I have already managed to paint 3 archers 3 spearman and Thranduil on foot and made a banner conversion of a spearman and to be honest I quite like my conversion. :)

Image

and last but not least the banner conversion wich I took from the galadhrim knight banner.

I hope have enjoyed looking at these mini's and probably untill next week with an update of more elves.

Your models are stunning, especially loving the colour scheme of the mirkwood armoured elves. Could I ask how/ what colours you used for the red and gold look for them as its the look that I would like to do when I get mine. 8) :-D

hello,

thanks for all the comments I realy appreciate it :). I am quite the fan of my banner conversion too, although I have to wait untill the movie has come out to paint him for the right banner colours.

as for an answer on Stros006 question

the golden armour:

begin with: sycorax bronze
shade with: agrax eartshade
layer with: hashut copper
finaly layer it with ghenna's gold
and for the silver parts on it use runefang steel at the end.

red cloth

begin with: khorne red (on al the red parts)
shade with: carroburg crimson (on al the red parts)
then for the more darker red parts on the arm shade with nuln oil over it agian to make it dark red/purple and then it is done for that red part.
then paint over the lighter red part khorne red agian
then highlight that part with wazdakka red.

and here is a quick update with the captian, 2 knights and Thranduil on horse. (I also painted 2 more spearman, but I don't see a reason why to take a picture of it.)
currently I have basecoated the banner carrier, 3 swordsmen, 3 archers and 2 knights.

off to the pictures now :D

I hope you have enjoyed watching them :) any tips are always welcome. aswell.

today another update with lots of new BotFA miniatures.

here are two of the minis of the latest release I sculpted Azog'a armour with greenstuf as my store manager and I think that GW unfortunatly won't release a new Azog. So I tried to sculpt some on the new model, I like how it came especially because it is my first time trying to sculpt something. I Hope you enjoy it, I also managed to paint Bolg on foot planning to paint the mounted version somewhere this week. (the gundabad orcs in the back I also painted after having them for 2 months laying around at my painting desk 8)

Further on, here are 4 members of Thorins armoured company, with Dwalin, Balin, Oin and Thorin himself. Bilbo is n't there because he was wearing his ring and I didn't saw him at my painting desk so he he will be comming this week. these mini's are a lot of fun to paint they made for a nice diversion while painting some of my armoured mirkwood elves wich also contains a short update with the painted banner and a converted hornblower, so anyways here are the pictures.

And last but not least the crappy man of(gaming wise with their stats) Lake-town. I bought one warband full of these with 6 swordsmen 3 archers and 3 spearman, planning to get more in the future. Wonderfull sculpts and they are a variety to paint so a rather enjoyable army to paint. I hope you enjoy watching them as much as I have enjoyed painting them.

Image

Image

next update will probably contain the new Bard model a mounted Bolg, the finished group of Lake-Town militia with Alfrid, Bilbo, a gundabad orc captian and I hope to show my finished mirkwood host aswell.

thanks for watching! :D

kind regards,

Warrior of the North

Lovely update. Great looking set of figures.
I like what you have done with Azog armour, very nice touch. All the figures look to be painted to a good standard with the elf banner a stand out for me.

Azog and Bolg looks brilliant! I'm tempted to sculpt some armour for Azog too, when I buy him in the future.

Hey everyone, it's been a while now since my last update. I want to thank you all for the comments it's really stimulating the painting progress!

With all the new mini's and the Battle of the Five Armies scenario I wrote (4000 vs 4000 points battle). I'll be trying to do this battle without proxying a single mini and building terrain for it wich will be huuuuuuuugeeee aswell. so on this update there will be an almost finished dale house wich has barely been hit by Smaug so it's prety much not destroyed, only on the roof. It wil contain also my promise from my previous update the finished elves -2 cavaly models, Bard, Alfrid, Bilbo, Bolg Mounted and the Gundabad orc captian. I also have some extra wip 3 lake-town spearman and a converted mordor troll into a gundabad troll, idk how the hobbit trolls are called :P.

so lets start with the elves! it contains 9 archers, 1 banner, 1 warhorn, 1 captian, Thranduil, 6 spearman, 6 cavalry man and 10 swordsmen. I tried some conversions with the spearman.

Image

Image

Image

Image

now lets get on to the next thing the house of Dale. This is the first building I have ever made by myself and I'm proud of it as a first result next building will be much more destroyed!

Image

Image

Image

Image

now to Bolg, the captian/Mickey mouse orc and the troll! Bolg will also be my entry for this month's painting challenge so for more pictures of him checkout the painting painting competition from January 2015.

Image

Image

Image

now last but not least! the Lake-Towners with Bard, Alfrid, Bilbo and their warriors!

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

that's it! Thanks for watching, anny idea's for my long lasting project is most welcome! (and for I have n't said this on the forums yet and I'm probably to late a Happy New Year and may your hobby resolutions come true!)

Wow it's been some time agian since my last update but I have n't been doing nothing but most of them were Lotr models wich I like notheless although my WiP is about completing the Battle of the Five Armies Armies (and Smaug aswell could n't leave him to never be seen by this community)

for those that are curious here is a short personal review from me about Smaug

as soon as you feel its skin it feels like some sort of lizards skin because of the detail, its a joy to paint it took me about a week (had a holiday and was working +/- 3 hours a day on it) the only two problems with him is that he is a real pain to glue together and there are some very vulnerable parts on the model despite this it was wel worth it!

and here are the pictures of this time's update!

Image

Image

a couple of finished Gundabad orcs and some WiP models

Image

Image

same for the Lake-Towners, what a lovely army every time I see it I begin to like them more and more.

Image

Image

that was it for Idk how long although I do am starting soon building the gate of Erebor for a battle in my local store and the armoured Thorin's company so that will be it probably next time.

until next time!

WotN!

No I decided not too do it, because I want to convert him and make a Bain model from him.
