I'm curious to see how Gandalf's scale works with another gandalf or another GW model. |

Looking forward to seeing the KM Gandalf painted up and standing toe to toe with some GW miniatures. |

Great painting on some of the coolest LOTR minis! I love the bases too! |

What standard do you set this painting at ? Display or tabletop ? If it's the latter ( which I suspect ) then this is a mightily high standard. And furthermore, if this is the tabletop standard then we really do need to see some display standard work from you |

Thanks for the comments! @Gandlaf, I guess my hero painting is somewhere between tabletop and display - but I fear this is about the best I _can_ do (although I'll give an extra effort on the Knight Models Gandalf). For the regular troops, I'll aim for little less, otherwise I'll be still painting the campaign forces some 20 years from now! |

It's difficult to describe how awesome you are, except to say that you "have a mind of metal and wheels". ![]() |

These look fantastic. Brilliant way to paint them too so that your colors match! Very well done! |

Sry, since when did the Uruk-Hai start capturing Sams? Unless the one above is actually carrying a Merry? However, your painting and scenery are magnificent! |

I presume they're modelled to accommodate all outcomes for the Amon Hen scenario. |

Sir Richard, you have keen eyes - the Uruk carrying Sam is, indeed, the model of captured Merry. For a moment I thought of swapping heads or doing other modifications, but Merry and Sam are not too different-looking, so I merely painted the captured Merry with Sam's color palette. Mertaal, you are right! All the scenarios of Amon Hen I've seen so far (journeybook + WD) do not even feature Sam, but I find that rather strange. When our campaign gets that far, and assuming Sam is alive, he'll have to start the scenario with the rest of the Fellowship, dodge Uruks and catch a boat with the Ringbearer into safety - or risk being captured just like Merry and Pippin. I'm assuming Frodo can always slip the Ring on and evade capture, so no need for a model of captured Frodo. |

Wow Celevue this is truly an awesome project of epic proportions! I really like the whole 'behind the scenes' idea to offer something extra to the followers of your campaign. Since I only just now discovered these topics I'll be taking my sweet time to do some backlogging, so I'm of to your campaign-topic! Keep it up! |

They are really beautiful and you are painting sooo fast (really really jealouse...) IMO the Frodos are even better than the Sams and Merrys. I am really looking forward to seeing more progress! |

Great work, most people rarely get the opportunity to batch-paint heroes but it looks functional as ever! The dirty look on Mount Doom Frodo is very nicely done, almost as realistic as invisible Frodo. ![]() |

What about Frodo and Sam in orc armour, are you going to paint them? Fantastic painting so far and can't wait to see them in action ![]() |

Thanks for the kind words, folks! I'm happy with the Mt Doom Frodo myself, too. @ElfLover, I will paint Frodo & Sam in orc armour at the same time as the Mordor orc army. They will be needed for the Plateau of Gorgoroth scenario (provided that they survive that far, of course). I've also entertained an idea of someone else than Sam accompanying Frodo to Mordor, perhaps forced to wear Mordor uruk armour as a disguise! We'll see how the story unfolds over the next couple of years... |
