So I've finished my Fantasy tournament, and the next store campaign is Lotr, so I'll be trying to get stuff randomly done from my Lotr collection now

I acquired an old metal balrog, the cool posed one with the whip for about £12, the wings were a bit beat up, so I've ordered a new pair whilst I strip the rest of him

I've managed to strip it, but getting the shear amount of glue the kid used on it off is not an easy task, already sliced my thumb and finger!

I managed to get the 500pts of Lothlorien Elves almost finished today, and the balrog is fully assembled!

I took photos, but left my camera in my bag at the store, D'oh! So will upload some pictures tomorrow!

Played a game with the elves today against Mordor, he had 2 of the gorgroth things, which I blew over using call winds and natures wrath

Those elves look stunning! The armour is painted way to good! Very nice! Also looking forward to the balrog - curious what u will make of that one :-)

Am I correct, you didn't use any gold paint, just silvers and yellow washes?

Tonight I've been chopping off swords from some Orcs I've never used, and stuck them to Corsairs to make Reavers!

Also I didn't like the finecast banners, they were turning out different to my other galadrihim warriors, so I converted some (ignore the gold colour)

Ta,
The armour is different to the plastic models, its sort of inverted where the plastics are flat. They also chainmail skirts. The wash settles differently on them making the armour look darker than the plastics. Plus when you put them next to each other, the finecast one is quite skinny and different looking. They're still lovely models nonetheless, but don't match the plastics.

Managed to buy and paint this 500pts army today, using the metal spear as Forlong the Fat.

Was very basic quick paint job just to get them done. They will do!

Probably about four hours in total:
