I wonder do Fellbeasts taste like chicken?

Thank you for the comments everyone.

@Southy I consider that a challenge... I will not be beaten by a monkey-twin! :-X

@Chris Eowyn is on the conversion/painting table  the plan is to have this as a multi-purpose piece, for both gaming on the 60mm base and as a diorama on the mumak base. For the latter I have a few schemes running through my head, I'm currently trying to choose between having Theoden or Eowyn and Merry. Any suggestions would be appreciated 8)

@Gothmog, Raukov & Cruci Thank you all :) I've always loved that scene where the Witch King's fell beast comes down to the Pelennor fields and walks on the ground. Along with the film inspiration there was a book of LoTR paintings my parents gave me years and years ago, and one of my favourites was the following, "The Lord of the Nazgul" by Roger Garland.

Great looking Grimhammers - what are you planning for the bases? Stonework to represent Erebor, or maybe some rougher, rocky gravelly bits for the battle at the Gate of Moria?

Cheers Dorth! They're far from done yet, but I wanted to put up a little preview pic to show what I've been working on lately.

I'm unsure about the bases for the moment. If it were just the dwarves I'd try to go for an Erebor-y type base, but they'll be allied in with another faction, so I think that just a standard base may be best.

Time will tell~

Am I correct in thinking you have 27 of these dudes?

Nice preview pic. The red nicer than green on these. Better for autumnal wear, and the snow is well executed.

I want those warriors of Arnor!!! They look great by the way, the colour scheme is really cool; nice and original. Did you buy them all from GW?

You'd be correct sir :) the full army consists of Arvedui, Malbeth, a command unit, Halbarad and 27 Warriors of Arnor. The army for Battle Brothers wont be including Arvedui and a few of the warriors though.

I'm glad the red colour scheme is gaining approval, thank you! And yes, the whole army was bought direct from GW 8)

Original colour schemes always get my approval mate! That must have cost you a fortune?! How did you find them to paint?

Loving the red Arnor troops! 8) (I think that's the colour I'd have gone for if I had an Arnor army.) Keep up the good work Knighty 8)

Haha aye, it was a bit on the pricey side... I think just under £100 or so. But, ho hum, at the end of the day I'm happy with them. At first I tried the standard green colour scheme but found that really tedious and a bit of a chore. I tried out a couple of other themes and eventually settled on the red, which once I got properly going with was a joy to paint. They're not the best of models granted - the headwraps being the key detraction, but even so I can't wait to see and use them in battle :)

Looking good, but we need better pics! They don't do your paintjob justice.

Post subject:  Re: Knighty's WIP: A Hint of Things to Come

Last week whilst searching through my spares and random collection I noticed that I had quite a bit of Uruk-Hai. So I gathered everything up and sorted it all out - mainly pikes and shields, but a number of crossbows and berserkers and captains throughout. Which led me to decide... Lets start an Isengard army!

Having a considerable force of standard troops to begin with, I took to the realms of ebay to bring more berserkers and crossbows to the fold.

The end result is an army.... worthy of Mordor.

Saruman.
Grima.
Five full pike block warbands.
Two full berserker warbands, each led by a shaman.
One warband of crossbows led by Vrasku, soon to be two.
One warband of uruk scouts led by Ugluk.
One warband of uruk scouts with bows led by Lurtz.
Two Isengard Trolls

So without further ado, here are a couple of wip shots.
