Thank you. It also takes a great deal of patience which is also something I'm working on :) .
Anyway, I did some more work on it, and it's nearly finished. Sorry for the terrible pictures, I'll take better ones when it's completely done.

The face looks better in real life, though I might still go back and redo it, at least the eyes.
Thanks for looking!

Lovely work. In fact I didn't realise at first that it was NMM. And I agree, patience is probably the biggest thing.

Your highlights are in all the right places but the shades in the joins look too dark. A brown would work better than the present colour, I think.

Thanks everyone! @hannibal thanks, I had completly forgotten about that, I was just black lining it. I don't think I'll change it though, I'm afraid I'll mess it up.
I finished the sword finally, I've been pretty busy this last week so I haven't been able to do a whole lot of painting. I did finish painting it though, and I'm currently working on the base.

A very enjoyable piece to look at. I haven't done any NMM yet so I must get to it soon.

I'm not 100% sure I like the base, I feel like I could have done better. Any help with it would be great. I'm not sure when I'll work on it again because I really want to enter this months challenge, so for now it's done.
Thanks for all the help and encouragement, you guys are great, 8)

Magnificent. He is ready to deal with any pesky elves. Well done on the NMM!

Wonderful work and am I right in saying this is your first serious effort at NMM ?
If I am right then this is a stunning bench mark to start from. I agree with Kev, don't change anything, if you do you could spoil what you have done.

Thanks everyone! I'll take your advice and leave it.
@Gandalf the Grey, this is actually probably somewhere around my fifth or sixth one, and I've done several other miniatures with small bits of nmm. You can find them scattered throughout my wip thread.
Thanks again!

You certainly have an eye for NMM. It is an incredibly difficult technique to get your head around. I must say you are far better at it than I. I've only dabbled with the technique on a sword here and there and have never had the guts to go all out and try and complete an entire miniature. Well done for having the guts to give it a go and double well done for achieving an amazing result.

have you tried NMM swords with blue shades yet? I'm trying to work out how to do it now on a Harlequin Miniatures Aragorn - Its crazy hard. I'd be interested to see what you come up with using blue. Keep up the great work...whats next?

I actually didn't find it hard to paint blue-ish NMM swords. I went for range of grey tones and added the same small amount of blue to every tone that I used. If you are interested, have a look at my fellowship Gandalf in my WIP :)

However, the NMM on this elf is just breathtaking! There's nothing left that could be improved imho :)
Though, he looks a bit "crooked" due to the rock he stands on..

Thanks again guys!
DMS, why thank you, that means a lot. You should definitely have a go at a completely nmm model, I think you would do great, and it's a ton of fun. I have tried nmm with blue shades, but I haven't really found a method that I really like. In case you are curious the models I tried it on are the dwarf lords, and I think the kings of men as well as Gandalf if I remember correctly.
As for what's next, I'm not sure. I was hoping to do something for this months challenge, but it turns out I've burned through the majority of my heroes :( we'll see, I might be able to find something.

Rognarr, he is a little crooked, but oh well :)
