The skin on the troll is looking very natural or at least as natural as troll skin can look.

I couldn't pass this thread by and not make a comment. That skin tone on the haradrim warrior is insanely good. Nice job!

The Haradrim with the unpainted bear is superb - and the beard really does not look unpainted in the photo. Great skin tones. Troll looks great - I usually glue them down on the base before painting.

Thanks everyone! I'm glad you like them. Dorthonian, I would glue him down, but I'm not sure what I want to do with the base yet, so I figured I'd leave it off just to give me more options. Speaking of the troll, I've done some more work on it. There's just some touching up to do, but it's done for the most part. The pictures aren't very good, I'll post better ones when it's all done :)

Great work on the troll.
The painting is very nice, I like the skintone and the details on his face/teeth.

Not too keen on the rust on his armour and sword but it's a well painted 'mini' nonetheless.

Thank you :)
Sorry I haven't been around much of late, things have been busy lately. But I've still had some time to paint and I have almost finished the troll. I just want to add a little bit to the base, and touch a few more areas up. Here it is 99% complete.

I want to add maybe a severed head, or arm to the base so you can get an idea where all the blood came from, and also because without it the blood looks more like random splotches of paint.
I hope you all like it, and feel free to let me know if something could be improved or done better. Thanks!

I like what you have done here, great armour but it's the sword that looks the best to me.
The base is in need of some extra touches. A bit of contrast in the soil and I would be tempted to flick a toothbrush of blood with your finger to create a splattered look. Do this from one point and add the arm and head at this point and it will resemble a gruesome encounter.

Thank you both, much appreciated. I decided to to add some more blood to the troll, I may have gone a little overboard though. I tried the splatter effect, but it wasn't really working for me, so I just brushed it on. I also finally got around to basing some of my haradrim.

This was my first time to try making guts, but I think it turned out really well, it's just a bit dark I think. I'll probably redo the orc head, right now it doesn't look right.

The Orc-blood should be black, but other than that it's looking ace! Is this the metal or "Fine"cast Troll Chief you have there?

Thanks! I believe the Orc blood is black, did I messing up somewhere?
This is the metal version.

The blood splatter works really well. It would be hard to make this more black (if it's supposed to be orc blood) and still look like blood. The troll is brilliant by the way. Awesome skin colour and the sword is perfect. The rust on the armour might be a little overdone - maybe it could have been a bit more subtle, but that is a very minor issue. The Haradrim are great too. The colours work really well together.

Thanks! :-D
Sorry for the absence again, I was out of town for a week, then I was sick, so I haven't been able to paint for a while. I did do some yesterday though, I'm working on some more haradrim. Archers this time. The pics aren't so great cause I want to save the full effect for when they're completed.

The cloak on the last one looks fantastic, very smooth blending. Big thumbs up on that.

Loving that cloak with a touch of green in it. To be honest I would like to have seen it replicated in place of the blue some of the others have, but it does make the figure unique. Very good work.

I like it a lot too, I'm very happy with how it turned out. I will use it more on future models for sure.

Nice job on this, I like you freehand.
You have done the base really well, I like its simplicity.

Post subject:  Re: PoW's WIP: 5/26/14 Hasharin

So this last painting challenge was kind kind of disappointing. I felt like I could have done much better, but my pictures were pretty awful. So I'm trying to work on my photography. Here are some better pics of my Hasharin. I still need to work a lot on my photography, but these will do for now. I think my main problem right now is trying to get some decent lighting.

As for new miniatures, I haven't been doing a whole lot. I took a little brake after the challenge, but I've started back up and should post an update within the next couple of days.
