An innovative mini - using real stone?
I think the stones are too big proportionally - each would weigh over a ton compared to a 28mm mini. Search the interwebs for Dark Ages and Iron Age stone buildings - here is an example from Skellig Michael off the Irish Coast - look how relatively small the stones are - these are referred to as beehives
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File: ... ichael.JPG
The largest stones are those bearing the loads such as the lintel over the doorway and small windows.

the slates are indeed quite big, but it doesn't bother me. It gives it a rough and primitive feeling, i think it's quite fitting. Very creative!

The slates are rather large - but I think that is to the house's benefit, honestly. It gives a sense of primitivity, yes, but it also...well...feels like the sort of thematic exaggeration PJ might do to give the place character. It looks angry and violent, very suitable for Dunland - which, considering that it's a roof (not things well known for their desire for revenge, and holding of bitter grudges), is no mean feat.

Cool idea for a house. I really like the orc with horns, makes them look very barbaric and scary!

Nice looking house. Maybe the slates are a little large - or else the Dunlanders are just really strong!

First works with the paint. I have added a base and started painting the roof, but it's not finished, I want to add some color to it...

I hope you like it.

Great work on this. May I suggest adding a little brown into the slate then highlight with a grey to give it a bit more depth.

This is near finish, I must put the grass, the smoke in the chimney and make a few things in roof and base...

I hope to finish tomorrow.

I love the horses, great desert colours, I find horses tough to paint so good job there.

That is a brilliant house and I especially like the steam you've made coming from the chimney :D

The horses are great, it is not easy to nail down painting horses (all the flat area's). I have so many harad Cav to do, that is why they get kicked down the back log list. :-D
I love the house. Very nice lodge. Are you going to make others?

Thanks for the comments. I'm so happy you like the minis.
The horses I think they're so normals, nothing special, at last that what's I think about.
The house. Right, I've started another one this evening, but I didn't make photos, so I'll try to make some tomorrow.
