I like it! The dark scheme makes a welcome change to the usual greens and browns.

You could disguise that a little if you drybrushed a little bestail brown around the bottom of the clothing giving a weathered effect. This would draw the eye away from the darker areas of the clothing and give a little more contrast. If you do this make sure you wipe 99.9 % of the bestial brown off your drybrush before you touch the model - you don't want to overdo this bit. If you like you can take it a step further and drybrush just the very edge of the clothing with graveyard earth after the bestial brown drybrush.

I wouldn't worry too much about it to be honest Steve - the model looks great to me.

And so it begins, Most of base colours done for my "nightswatch" inspired Ithilien Rangers.
I really like how these guys are turning out. And all but one is a slight conversion to accommodate the spears.

I'm currently painting my Rangers as well and I was reaaaally tempted to paint them in a nightswatch theme.
I'm painting them in traditional green/brown/grey.

Yours look great so far!
Really nice colour scheme (y)

This is a nice way of mixing inspirations from two fantasy worlds. Now, will this amalgamation be called 'A Song of the Rings' or 'The Lord of Ice and Fire'? :)
