Looking good! You should try adding a couple drybrushed highlights to Gandalf, give him a bit more depth. great work!

Ok drill one side insert and glue pin, when dry dip the pin in paint them press it against the other limb to make a paint mark for the other whole.

There is no real easy answer to this question.

Best advice I can give you is to...(using the Balrog Wing as an example)...

1. Take the wing and line in up in place next to the main body.
2. Look at how the wing lines up and understand the angle you will need to drill at.
Image
3. Drill into the Wing first (this id the 'thinnest' part of the two sections.
4. Place metal rod into the Wing (do not glue) and cut it so there is just a 'tiny' amount of the pin sticking out of the hole.
5. These next two steps you need to do quickly. Add some paint to the top of the pin you just inserted and quickly line the wing up where it needs to be positioned and press against the main body.
6. The main body should now have a mark of paint on it and this is where you need to drill to get the pin and holes to line up.
7. The hardest part, drill into the main body, taking into consideration the angle you need to drill at.

8. Remove the pin from the Wing and insert a new one which is longer.

Lastly, if you got the angle slightly wrong, use some pliars to bend it into position (it wont matter if the pin is at an angle).

Great looking wing, good idea to paint the black on the flame, get a better contrast

That wing is fantastic, very smooth edging to the black and the yellows and oranges are blended very very well, great work - i'm impressed

@Harfoot Thanks :) The flames are not done yet haha I was going to add a brown to them.

@Gandlaf the Grey Thank you also :)

@Grungehog Haha Thanks, Just checked it out on your blog That is awesome dude! I wish I had your axe or the sword version of Balrog + the whip and have him holding the whip in his right hand and axe/sword in his left!. Did you find it tricky to paint under his wings?
