Ha! Same thing happened to me. Try Googling "Procreate Putty" much better search :wink:

Only thing is that the wooden thing on the right side of the door is higher than the other side - or was this done intentionally ?

I thought about constructing it out of small pieces of wood - balsa, matchsticks etc - which would seem logical (and save a lot of time) but I decided to actually sculpt the wood in order to get a higher level of texture in the piece. This is meant to be an old, old dwelling place - so I don't want any neat, flat surfaces.

All will become clear! That 'riser' will be resting on a horizontal beam.

Apologies: images have been removed from this post. I've been inspired by Dagorlad's Halfling Holes and was desperate for something to prevent myself from becoming more loopy; sculpting a zillion, zillion dragon scales can do funny things to the mind. Any way, I want a project that I can finish in a week or two! Hobbits have lived in the Shire for hundreds of years and I want my first hole to reflect that - having a weathered, crumbling, unkempt look. I'm going to change how the roof is done on this model. I think the large beams will be roofed with large stones rather than rafters and tiles. This is also an opportunity for me to try out ProCreate - a brilliant putty that UKFB uses. It is top quality stuff and makes green stuff green with envy. My long, long, long term goal is to sculpt some real miniatures. Large scale pieces are one thing - and my dragon has loads of detail - but I'd love to sculpt tiny figures and get all that detail in there. I've bought some of Ebob's armatures/puppets and will have a go soon. Before that, I'm getting to grips with ProCreate and experimenting to see what I can achieve with it. I hope you like it. The drawing you did looks like it will make a nice hobbit hole. The wood detail is very nice. About pro create, how much do you get, it says 2.5oz but its hard to visualize how much you get. Is it really that much better than greenstuff? I to am starting to sculp little figures and need all the help i can get.

Looks like a very good start, Natarn. I haven't heard of this ProCreate stuff but I did some research online and it looks pretty good. I may be ordering some in the near future.

Great start Nat, the wood grain effects look very natural. I think it makes perfect sense that you'd want to take a break from all of the crazy scale work and make something else. Hobbit Holes makes perfect sense... the Dragon is going to need somewhere to get his dinner! Thanks for the tip about ProCreate. This is a new product for me as well and looks like a very good buy. I've had enough of dragons and Hobbit holes. I'll leave them now and do some painting. There are so many dwarves that are just undercoated and they'd look so good painted up. I sculpted another 42 dragon scales last night. Yesterday morning I did a tiny bit of the Hobbit hole. Both projects are progressing very nicely. I may be bored of sculpting scales but I never get bored of looking at the progress I've made when I've finished each section. Don't worry... The dragon will be finished in a few months - perhaps earlier. I doubt I will ever buy green stuff again. ProCreate may be a little bit more expensive, but it is worth it. Fortunately, I already know how to procreate. It's just learning to ProCreate that's new to me.

Sculpting terrain - I've never given it any thought , but then again , it seems more logical in the sense of not having to fiddle around with all sorts of wood and materials. Good idea ! (BTW , did you know that the Pro-create boys also make a terrain putty ? could be ideal for this job ! ) Natarn Ulka wrote: All will become clear!
