Post subject:  Longbottom Leaf's WIP: Arvedui and Malbeth 5/22/10

Hello everyone and welcome to my WIP thread. :)

I'll post updates on all of my work here, whether it is a miniature or a terrain piece I'll be sure to share it here. This WIP has gone through quite a bit of change over time, and now its been changed again. I've decided to turn this into a general WIP, rather then one specific to any army or realm. So, Collecting and Building Khazad-Dum is now Longbottom Leaf's WIP. I'll also add a subt title to show what I'm currently working on. :)
I hope you will all continue to follow this thread as it continues to develope.

Your comments and advice are always welcome with me. :)

Best Regards,
Josh

Thanks for the encouragement guys. :)

I do have a small update for you today; I finished the chainmail on the Khazad Guard.

It's not much, but it's all I've done today. I had painted the rest of the silver areas, but they came out terrible, so I'm going to repaint them. I'm having a lot of trouble with the Khazad Guard, so I'm moving onto the Dwarf Warriors for now.

It's looking nice so far. 8)
Personally I like the one to the right best, 'cause it have a darker look (but that might just be the photo  ).

Thanks for the complements, Olle. :)

I believe it is indeed the photo, as they're both very similar in person. Infact, the one on the left is actually slightly darker in real life, though it's hard to see the difrence.

Thanks, Gorgoroth. I'm afraid you'll have to wait a little while longer, as I've put the Khazad Guard aside for awhile. I'm currently working on 4 Dwarf Warriors with two-handed axe. I hope to finish off their armor today, and then post an update. :)

Looking great so far, keep it up! :-D
Although what I think could be great, is if you make the chainmail NMM. It's very easy to do if you've never done it, and even if you don't do the rest in NMM, it would make a nice contrast... but that's just me

Perhaps I will try NMM on the chainmail of some of my spare Khazad Guard. Good idea, Juls. 8)

Hmm... Well guys, it seems I won't be updating today after all. My brush chose a wonderful time to fall apart, which means my painting has come to a standstill. So, unless you want to see the wonderful level of painting I achieve with a brush that has a grand total of two bristles left on it, you'll have to wait for updates.

I'll try to pick up a brush sometime this week. Hopefully I'll be able to update around that time, but until then you'll just have to wait.

My apologies everyone. :(

Ah, too bad Josh.
Next time, I'd recommend you to buy two brushes, so you have one in reserve.

Well, I have a couple, it's just they're all to big and are worn out as well. I try not to paint with anything larger than a detail brush.

Like I said, hold out for a little while, and you will be rewarded. :)

By the way, when's, "Nest time"?

Or you could just show us some extremely fine detail work...

LOL, John.

Will I have to provide the microscope you'll need to see the work?

Hey guys, I actually do have a small update for you!

Psych!

Seriously though, I think that picture should explain my lack of updates for the next few days. I should have a new brush by friday, so then I'll have some more stuff for you guys. :)

Yeah, Gorgoroth, now you understand my problem. On the plus side, I should have a nice new brush by tomorrow! :D

Hey, everyone. I have a small update for you guys. I was going through some old stuff, and found the secret entrances from the Mines of Moria boxed set. Though they're not listed as part of the Attack on the East Gate scenario, I thought they would fit well due to the Goblin Swarm special rule. That, and I was bored, and needed something to do...

So, I got out an old drybrush, and got to work.

It could still use another drybrush on the stone, and a highlight on the metal, but I'm fairly pleased with it, considering it only took about 10 minutes. :)
