The diorama looks great so far! Does it depict a specific scene? I don't recognize it at least. Also, is the blue armor some WIP NMM? If not, I think it already looks very good as well, the color works well with the gold.

I know it was a little while back but that Knight of Dol Amroth and the dwarf are really tastefully done. Makes me want to get back into painting. Mmm.

Sorry for the somewhat lengthy absence, I've been pretty busy these last few weeks. @Qwertz8, the armor is not nmm, it's supposed to be armor that's been painted over. Not sure really how else to describe it, but hopefully you get what I mean.
@SidTheSloth, thank you, I appreciate it! Hope to see you around the forum some more!

Here is my finished king Theoden.

I wasn't originally going to do a snow base, but once I saw the PVA glue on the base for the sand I knew I had to throw some snow on their. As far as the painting goes, I wanted to keep it as accurate to the movies as possible, with the exception of the blue clothes.

I've also started painting Legolas. I'm going for the classic color scheme, nothing weird this one.

I have also done some more work on my display piece, but it's still a ways away from being done.

Thanks for looking!

It looks fantastic (and I love that blue cloth!)!
About Théoden's armour, I've always thought of it as a mix of leather and steel, but I might be wrong lol

Been busy with real life the last few weeks so I haven't had a lot of time to paint. Plus, I've been working on four different paintings projects, so that doesn't really help get stuff done. I've just about finished two of them though and will try to have pics up by the end of the week.

Been a while since I updated this, here are my latest projects. The first couple pictures aren't so great, but the last two are much better.

Great paint jobs on these miniatures! Nice one. Gandalf really looks like he means business! :)

Looking good! Nice bases. Gandalf and Gimli are spot on. Good faces and eyes. I still think that original Gimli version is the best and you surely give it justice. Frodo looks a bit monochrom with trousers, jacket and waistecoat all in the same shade of brown. I think they are usually different shades? I also think that the turqoise on Legolas is a bit too colourful perhaps, and maybe too little grey-ish. Those are at least my thoughts, again, good work!

Thanks everyone! Alhvar, they are slightly different shades of brown, unfortunately it just doesn't show in the picture all that well. He also turned out a lot darker than I was originally intending which adds to the him looking so monochrome. I have a few other Frodos to paint in the (hopefully) near future that I plan on painting a lot brighter.

Me and my brothers have recently gotten into playing Battle Companies, so most of my painting is going towards painting stuff for my company. I chose Durin's Folk which I already have most everything I need, but I did end up buying a set of Iron Guard and a Vault Warden team just in case. I FINALLY got not one, but two sets of the metal Mordor Orcs that came out back when the game just started. These have been a Grail of mine for so long that it's kind of hard to believe I actually own them now. I may have to abandon my dwarves for a new battle company

Just wanted to update you all on what I've been up to, I'll try and get some pictures posted within the next day or two.

Pictures at last! First, I finished basing Gimli.

Next, a dwarf for my battle company.

And an Iron Guard.

And another dwarf.

Then, over a year later, I decided to retake pictures of this guy with a dark background. I couldn't get the best lighting, but I think it looks a little more dramatic this way.

Looks like you drilled holes in the dwarf's bow, you adding a bowstring?

Really like the troll, especially the spotted skin on the front and the grimy armour !

Thanks everyone! Mapper, I am not planning to add bowstrings, I'm actually not a fan of how they look on miniatures.

Got started on these guys. As you can see, I am going for a dirty, rusty look. They're all still in progress, but more or less finished. Just some small details left.

They look great, just the right amount of rust, IMO :)

Post subject:  Re: PoW's WIP: 10/19/19 Orcs

Been a while since I updated this so be prepared for a lot of pictures.

First I've got some tabletop quality stuff for my battle companies. I have since switched from my dwarves to a Mordor company so it's mostly orcs.

Then I have these two nicer ones. First is the famous uruk-hai scout wielding an axe. I wanted to stick pretty close to the movie for this one, so meaning a lot of different tones of brown, and a dark look overall. I did end up makeing it brighter than the movie just because the uruk in the movie is ridiculously dark. For the base I wanted it to at least resemble the scene in the movie, which was a lot of brown and yellow. I wanted to add leaves to it as well, but I don't have any and was too lazy to make my own.

Next I have what I'm calling a Swan Knight from Hell. This is something I did for fun and didn't really plan anything out, I just had an idea of what I wanted to do and ran with it. It took a lot longer than I was expecting it to, and it actually ended up just sitting on my desk for a few months. I originally wanted all the non-red bits of armor to be gold nmm, but my first attempt was way too yellow which gave off a ketchup and mustard kind of vibe that I didn't like. I eventually switched to silver and was much happier with how it looked.
The base is the only thing that really suffered from my lack of planning. When I assembled the model, I pinned it to the base and glued it on along with the sand. Only when I was nearing the completion of the paintjob did I realize I didn't really care for the base. I decided to leave though because I didn't want to risk ruining the paintjob trying to get it out of the base. In the end I'm fine with the base, it's nothing special, but at the same time it doesn't distract from the model itself.

And that concludes this massive update, I will try to be more consistent with updates in the future.
