Hi all, I'm a regular poster over at Last Alliance, and only occasional browser here (because I can't get to it from work, mainly :x ), but every time I'm on I see a lot of activity and it makes me want to join in the fun :)

So, in that regard, I'm posting up my Fornost Veterans army already in progress. The basic idea is to take WoMT and convert them into more interesting Warriors of Arnor using GS and bits and a little creative pinning and glueing.

So with that, here's where I'm at so far:

Converted WoMT w/spears. These guys required the least amount of conversion, since they are armed exactly as they need to be.

Converted swordsmen. These guys require a bit more love since their weapons are different, but at least they have shields!

Converted Archers - these guys have the most work done on them. Its a challenge finding ways to turn them into spearmen.

hard to see on this guy, but the shield arm used to hold a bow

Ah welcome to the site, some great work going on here. It's working well, I have a few Arnor warriors myself, but these look equally good. Are you going to do a complete box set? I look forward to see some more, and painted when time allows it.

Keep it up

They look great, I'm looking forward to seeing them painted. What symbol are you going to put on the shields?

Also, have you used this Arnor army in a game yet? If so, is it good?

Thanks for the welcome, guys!

Eventually there will be 26 warriors including a banner bearer and horn blower. After that, its on to the rangers and characters. I've actually got the remaining WoA on my desk right now with headbands and chainmail complete, but they still need the 'veteran' treatment (pouches, bandages, satchels, etc.).

I'll have another update on Friday, and hopefully some of them will have their cloaks done by then.

FYI, I haven't played a lick with them yet. I've played against Arnor armies enough to know they're a tough nut to crack, though. All that D6, F4, and spears makes for a pretty thick force. :)

Very nice, very nice especially that you have converted the archers that is very hard to do but you have done a great job now we want paint and if you paint it as good as your other army wich I saw at the last alliance this army will be golden demon worthy :D

That's an awsome idea with the WoMT converted to Warriors of Arnor. I've heard of some people who have planned to do something like this, but yours are the first that I have seen done. There are some great conversions and sculpting in there, bravo! I look forward to seeing all of them finished and painted. They look great! 8)

Thanks for all the confidence boosting replies, guys! :-D

Some 'command' models I've been working on

Beginning of a banner bearer:

And a WIP of a hornblower. I've done a lot of work on this guy and he's still got a ways to go, but I ran out of GS and wanted to post some progress pics :)

A simple but very well executed idea!
Your second hair sculpting atempt is also much better than the first.
It's always good to see someone improving in such a short time. 8)
Looking forward to see how you paint them.

If you want to add more detail, Add buttons to the pouches and drill a hole in the horn of the hornblower.

Thanks for the comments, guys. I wish I could get over to this site more often. The hobby community is great! In the meantime. . .

I got new GS!

I made cloaks!

And finally, I'm starting to look at converting rangers. The problem is they are such good models and so tight on their details that I'm having trouble finding ways to modify or add to them. If you have any suggestions, holla!

For rangers maybe simple things like pouches and drinking bottles? Or some knifes on their belts... the simple things ...:)

Looks really fantastic but in one of the updates one guy has a very strange beard if you fix that your army is just perfect 8)
