Hey all,

sorry for my long departure - not that anyone missed me anyway (Maybe Ranger of Gondor :P ).

I see that the To9G is slowly grinding to a halt too, not great...

One of the main reasons for not participating myself in the To9G was because of money, and not to mention the time!!

So my idea. We had the MASSIVE scale To9G where you have do do 3 companies per month, and we also had a smaller "Do what you want" styled WIP started by Joansean.

But I was thinking about in the middle, like 1 company per month / 1 monster or 1 to 2 epic heroes.

So if there is some interest then we can start next month probably.

I hope to get some positive feedback, then we can all decipher some "rules" (which are made to be broken anyway haha).

thanks all

James.

I'm with the go ahead on this one, I was thinking of reigniting the MPV. Still think we should have things to cater for both the War of the ring as the SBG painters.

Agreed, I realise not everyone is a WoTR fan so thats definately a sound idea! 8)

Well I might be interested. Question though, what is/are the MPV?

T'was a thread Sean organised to run in parallel to the Tale of gamers for those who could not fund it for a year or have enough time to commit themselves for a year because of school, work, personal life etc.

The Monthly Painting Vow (MPV) was set up so you could have your own mini sort of tale by submitting anything you felt like basically.

But that has died off and I feel it was too generic personally.

So back with a reinvention, Sean and I would like to kick start it again with newer rules. Points limit for SBG and company limit for WoTR. You can build effectively a skirmish warband over a period of time. Once done, simply back out or start again with a new warband (you may want to alternate between good and evil until either your armies are all painted)

Thanks

James

Well sounds good. College almost begins again, but if the rules of what to paint every month are not to harsh, I think I will join it ;)

I would be interested in that, though Id would depend on how many points you were thinking for SBG oriented people.

@ Dannis, yar school here too doesn't help - So nah won't be anything too daunting.

@Noddwyr...What would you suggest as a sane reasonable amount?

I would be very interested in that for SBG.

I was thinking I could do between 60-80 points a month, thats more or less equivalent to 1 company in WOTR if i am not mistaken. As you could paint 8 guys for that amount of points.

Also can we alternate armies? I mean could I paint uruk-hai one month but dwarves the next. I have a need to switch otherwise I get bored. :-D

We're doing something simillar on Mitril. Only that it doesn't have to be a wotr company, only minimum 5 any models to be painted each month you subscribe, so far there has been 15 editions with 16 under way, so it's possible ;)

If you want to check how it's going , visit : http://www.mitril.pl/forum/viewforum.php?f=119, each thread for one edition :)

Yes you can alternate, theres nothing wrong with that. I understand perfectly.

As for points, I am still undecided to go for points or number of models..Although a 60 point minimum seems fair I admit. As for maximums, we shall not have one..Because I have a balrog which will eventually creep in when i get round to misty mountains (probably give it a shot october with the new release for misty mountains).

Haldir, I had a quick peak. Looks good. As for miniature limits, I want to keep it very loose yet aimed towards something at the same time.

So if someone is doing a WoTR Gondor army, a company of men or cavalry seems more logical than half companies.

If however you want to stick with SBG, then yeah by all means a few men less may suffice..

But I am sure seeing some one say: "This month, I have sauron the dark lord, 2 men of minas tirith and theoden" will be a bit....well..naff

sounds good to me. It will also help my new High Elf army as well. Sign me up. But one question, will the models have to be based as well? (im gong to but just in case some others are wondering.)

Well, I'm in to if possible. As Mordor or Gondor as it fits for you guys.
But does it has to be painted on a To9g standard ? I'm not a very good highlighter

Good question! Yeah I dont really base my models for now, but I could start.
I think I will start of with some wood elves and harad.
