My Weathertop model is sitting gathering dust at the moment and it desperately needs a hill to sit on. It's been calling to me quietly for a couple of years now, but now (to quote Shakespeare) "I have turned to hear." So I have decided to make a hilltop for it based on the location used in the movies.

Tomorrow there will be blue foam flying, but today I am gathering images to build up an idea of how it is structured.

Watch this space...

Nice. I too have renewed interest in the hobby and have already painted more minis this year than in the previous 8 months. Your threads are always a delight to follow Alan so I look forward to it!

YES!
It will be great to see you working on this LOTR-terrain again Alan! As Dave says, always a pleasure to follow your work!
This might just be the inspiration I need to start assembling the Forgeworld weathertop, which is sadly enough gathering dust under my desk aswell!

Will this 'base' become a next part of your excellent Weathertop article? :D

Excellent news Alan, I can't wait to see what you'll come up with.

I'm still admiring the challenge and have not cut any foam yet, so no photos are available at the moment. Won't be long though.
