Hello all, here are some of my current projects I am doing. First off is my Troll that incorporates the spares from the Troll kit, metal FOTR Cave Troll torso courtesy of ebay (£2.50) and scratch built legs.

Nice work, are you pitching this as an alternate cavetroll or mordor troll, as the two are differing sizes. How does it compare to either in size?

It is about the same size as the plastic Troll and is much bigger than a Cave Troll. I rather liked the idea of a more feral looking troll that had scraps of rotting armour and that impressive club! Will post up some comparison shots of this with the plastic troll and my metal troll soon.

I like it! I like the hodge-podge armor and the sculpting looks very good (of which I am quite jealous). I can't wait to see this fellow painted up.

I would like to see that one painted up. I saw some nice troll conversions yesterday to. They were cave trolls converted to haradrim trolls.. Anyways keep it up! I want to see more of this stuff coming.

Well, he is primed and ready to go. I am going to do him as a really grotty troll with rusted armour. As he has armour, I am going to have him as a Mordor Troll and marked with the red eye on the helm. Will post up some WIP photos soon

I like the conversion. You have done an excellent job at his legs.
Looking forward to seeing him painted :)

Thank you for all you feedback thus far. Annoyed as I have just noticed that one foot is bigger than the other but skin is done and now working on the armour. I tend not to do WIP photos as it slows me down a bit. However, I will post up finished photos before showing my next conversion, Ted Sandyman. Sadly not as exciting!

Well despite my saying other wise here are a few pics. A lot of the highlights have been lost due to the lighting but they are there! The club hand fell off but I will attatch when it is completed. The armour is weathered but doesnt show up. When all is finished I will redo the shots in daylight. No washes have been applied to tone down the highlights you can see. I favour a model that looks good at reading distance and this looks good at reading distance, not so good blown up on here.....

You should probably pin the hand back on rather than just strait up glueing it.
Anyways, nice work, I really like him. :yay:

Just waiting for the ink on the base to dry. I didn't pin the hand back on as my Pinvice has vanished so to repair the hand I used a donut of greenstuff then superglued it. It will be a display only piece so shouldnt get too much handling. I glazed most of the model with Badab black and devlan mud to knock back the highlights a bit and whilst I was worried it would prove disasterous it looks much better.

Also, whilst Boromir is finished, I am working on the Fellowship (well, still trying to find all the plastic fellowship on ebay, have 3 pippins, 2 Merrys, 2 Frodos, a Gimli and 2 Aragorns). I am going for a more display finish than a realistic one.
So, here is the first one, Boromir. Photo is with flash just to pick up all the detail.

Legolas. I bought this chap for 99p off ebay as his Bow was broken. A bow courtesy of a Perry miniatures war of the roses archer and voila!
Not too keen on the paintwork as I was going for a very painterly contrasty approach but stands out on the shelf so must work!

Nice work on the troll. Your sculpting is very good as is your painting. For the most part the highlighting on Legolas is quite good. Apart from the face and the chest piece he looks fine to me, the tunic in particular looks great.
Keep up the good work, I'm looking forwards to seeing more of it.
