Post subject:  WiP-thread update 02/20/12 Starting my Fiefdoms

Hello dear fellow Middle-Earth dwellers!

This is my first post on this topic and also my first picking up on the hobby in a couple of years!
My army has always been Gondor, because I've always loved the sophistication of the way they
were portrayed in the films and the hobby alike!
I'm currently busy with repainting the most of the miniatures and luckily I had some unpainted models so
I don't have to buy a lot of new (expensive 8) ) ones!

My style is quite similar to the normal Gondorians, except I've been busy on making the clothes blue in stead of
black with grey-ish highlights!

So my first picture is my converted warrior to a leader!
Image
And some more views with Faramir in my own colourscheme
Image

I've been struggling with how to make the colourscheme work with my normal rangers, so if you have any tips
or suggestions I'd be happy to recieve them. Here are some pictures with a normal Ranger of Middle Earth and
my take on Faramirs rangers (with arrows haha)

The pictures are a little dark and blurry, so it is hard to make out some of the detail. That said, it looks like a promising start. Good luck with your projects!

Post subject:  Re: My First WiP-thread

Yeh sorry about the pic's. I use my phonecamera because I was just to lazy to get a good camera and my phone was already connected to the pc! :lol:

I'm currently busy on painting some Men-at-Arms of Dol Amroth and three Citadel rangers.. I'm doubting to paint the cloth around the chest of the
Men-at-Arms blue like the rest of my army or make it into a Bleached Bone / Skullwhite-tone. What do you think of the armour?

Image
I've been also painting some Osgiliath Ruins in a way I always thought the white marble of Gondor would look;
Image

EDIT; I placed the pictures wrong but I hope you get the idea!

Yoram.

Post subject:  Re: My First WiP-thread

Quick update! I've painted up a couple of RoME! I've made them in a Grey Company style, with a dusty look to them as they of course roam to defend Osgiliath! I'm very kean on my results (since it's been a few years since I've painted! :D ) I only have a question, how do you guys make good pictures of your minis?

And here are the pictures!

Note that these foto's were taken in an early stage, so the bows and arrow and other stuff are now finished in stead of that what is on this image!

For those of you who were interested I've tried to make a better picture of my converted captain;

Tips tricks or comments are most welcome!

So a quick update

I made another Osgiliath ruine piece, but with a little hacking and slashing trough the kit this is what came out :-D

Other angle;

And I had this old Knight of Dol Amroth (completely metal!!) laying around which hadn't been painted well, so i figured what the heck let's make it a statue!

Other angle;

Another three rangers of Middle Earth have also begun to emurge. They're on top of the ruine just for focussing difficulties.

Another picture.

And another;

And last but not least Legolas ( i made another thread in the help with miniatures section because the top half of the bow snapped of :( )

With top bow-half.

Thanks alot! I just had this dessert cup thingie in my kit so I thought awesome base. And i even put in some pieces of red in to create the idea that the statue was made from one piece of stone. The kind of marble I saw on vacation looked like this, I think it's iron or something that creates the red colour!

Hi guys,

I got another update for you! I´ve been on the look out for not-used second hand OOP miniatures and I bought a Faramir, an Aragorn and a sprue of the Army of The Dead for under the price you would pay for even a two-person blister!!

And looking through my old figures I found some Warriors of Rohan that could use a touch-up and I decided to make them a sort of scouts for my Gondor/Arnor army! So Im gonna give them White Tree shields, either regular helmets from WOMT or just hero heads from the BGiME conversionset!

I used one of the arms of the Knights of Minas Tirith to get this spear with banner and just a regular piece of spear to make the underpiece as you can see!

What should I do to make the transition of the head a bit smoother? Because I think I got overexcited with drilling!

Happy hobby-ing!!

Yoram.

Post subject:  Re: My First WiP-thread PIC-HEAVY UPDATE 10/2411

Got another update, was supposed to be learning my tests but couldn't concentrate and started to paint some of my concentration back!

Made seven Army of the Dead warriors, started with the MoM gandalf and took a backlogpicture as well! Who needs learning?
Really like how these turned out, I used this guide from GW's site http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/article.jsp?start=&articleCatId=&aId=4400033&categoryId=&catId=&pIndex=&communityArticleCatId=&section=&singlePageMode=true
and put a little bit of me into them aswell! Stil need to make some crucial highlights on the metal and a bit of shading, but still!!

I am still wondering whether or not if I should use the Twilight Ring-wraith as another ghost/captain. What would you do?

Post subject:  Re: My First WiP-thread PIC-HEAVY UPDATE 11/3/11

So here I am again, barehanded. I just found out the guy from my other topic ( viewtopic.php?f=30&t=22327 ) didn't want to meet me so that I could see the miniatures, and that means he is mostlikely a scammer of somesort.. Shame for I would have loved to own the Defenders of Rohan miniatures.. :(

I am currently busy with organising the bunch of miniatures, and trying to make my own fiefdom armies!

Yoram.

So here's what I've been working on today. Finally finished the first batch of the Dead. And made another aswell! I need to paint four miniatures and my first fiefdom-army will be done (for now :twisted: )
Here's a groupshot;

Half of them for details

Other half

And here's my first fiefdomfighter or captain. I haven't quiet figured that out!

Please let me know what you think!
