Hello again. Here some Uruk crossbowmen, whom I converted using Uruk pikemen and siege troops.
If someone wants, the whole formation is here:

Some great conversions, they work really well actually. My favourite is also the engineer with the bow on the bottom right.

That command unit looks scary, with Lurtz and Vrasku in one company! I really like the axeman behind Lurtz. As others have mentioned, the engineer with bow is especially good - did you splice them just above the gauntlet? And what colour did you use for the crossbow? The wood colour looks very convincing, much better than the normal Scorched Brown.

We did something similar with the Gripping Beast Crossbows. Curtis can't wait to use 16 of them, plus Vrasku, in action - will be about 10 days till they get their first blooding.

Paul, I use Vallejo: Cork-Brown 70-843, washed with Citadel: Devlan-Mud, for spears, bows, crossbows, etc.
Thanks a lot for your comments.

Marvellous conversions, and I like to see new interesting techniques or variations used in both modelling and painting to produce very attractive minis.

Well, when I say attractive, I mean as in accurately representing the original characters, as in this case, uruk-hai. :? A feisty bunch.

Conversions are unique for a collector-player-painter. Put those three in the right order, as anyone of us likes better.
For me is just a trial to keep the cost low and simultaneously to have the armies which I want. There is another post here in WIP
about a Dunlending force. It is really an amazing army, but unfortunately a very expensive one. Here is mine, low badget Dunlending army:

:-D WOW very nice :) From what i can see, your orc chariots will end up looking a hell of a lot better than my orc war lord in chariot (which you can see in my werewolf wip)

Its very good work 8) i hate you  lol

Thank you all for your comments.
About the Chariots: I made them from balsa wood. They are "scythed" chariots, as scythes I used Uruk-hai pike heads. The flag is a Morgul Knight spear. The charioteers are a mix of Minas Tirith warriors, Orcs, Uruks and Corsairs miniatures. A big mess!
GtW, I saw your Orc Warlord in Chariot. Very-very nice biga, indeed! And your werewolves are extremely frightening! Here are mine:

Thank you batpan, your werewolves also look very nice, you are good at conversions. I can tell one was a WoMT, but the rest i cannot, they are nice, good luck with finishing your chariots.

Thanks a lot. Speaking about chariots here are my Dunlending Chariots. Enjoy these because the Orcs' chariots are behind the scheduled time.

 If someone does not have enough miniatures of a kind to fill all the tray slots can easily use what I call "joker" miniatures. Here is an example with Gravestones markers. I was short of two Orc Stalkers and I used two Gravestones to reach number eight. :)
