As some of you know Im going to post in this following topic the process in which I wanna show you my warg for this month´s competition, the choice of colours, textures and base decoration.

alright first thing on orcs is that they are not made for 1 single colour, its a diferent kind of mix bettewn dots, burned skin and even skin pigment according to fungus or other enviroment condition that make so...even filth.

From wiki I collected the following info:
"Skin colour ranges from bone white (Azog and Bolg) and peachy colours (orcs like Gothmog) to shades of green (the orcs of Moria and Gorbag). Most orcs and later Uruks, however, are shown as having darker shades of black or brown skin (for example, the Black uruks and Sharku). Some orcs are also much more human-like than others, Azog looks like a large and muscular but pale and hairless human whilst Gothmog looks much more deformed and less human-like. Towards the end of The Two Towers the Uruk-hai were made to deliberately have more blotchy and patchy skin. This was to hint that the Uruks had already been unnaturally overbred and the race had become inbred. Later Isengard Uruks look much less impressive and well-formed than the first batch of Uruks like Lurtz."

Here some pick examples of the orc skins:

Moria Goblin close look to the skin

Image

Morannon orc with palish skin, you can noticed some scars a more rooting look like skin in some parts

Image

Hunter orc skins with variety of skin and tatoos and warpaints

Image

it is during the night however that camera pic higher quality of the diferent layer opf skins on the orcs, like this fella, look the veins and diferent layers on his pale skin

Image

Its also common to see blond orcs more than just ugluk if you look well

Image

Now for the warg:

Gundabad wargs show diferent patterns than those in the source book, being far more detailed in the fur than we expect according to their age and even location or way of life, and even pack inviduals in society.

Image

Image

Image

look at the corner of this photo, red-brownish fur with black fur back and ears

http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb2 ... Yazneg.png

(if you look closely in the movie, yazneg warg is far more black with some greyish fur than the actualy model represented on the GW website, I will place the pick soon so you can notice).

And this will be the subject to the test:

And here is the almost finished guy:

Hope you enjoy

Meanwhile my warg is on progress and I´ll post pics soon I decided to start another model from Hobbit range products, Saruman the white.

Although we do see some significant diferences bettewn saruman from Lotr and the Hobbit I will paint accordingly to Lotr to join him with my uruk hai army.

Diferences you wonder? what diferences? well have a look :)

The beard shape and the amount of grey is diferent, its a younger Saruman for sure, but soo few years and already this big changes? seems kinda odd hey?

Image

Also the clothing is slightly diference on the shoulders and on the waist and his belt is not that silvery colour type of metal and precious like his previous movie versions.

Image

Despite this I do think GW Saruman´s version of the hobbit look 2 perfect of a saruman the white not being exactly the same as we expected and not even by close to do with one seen in the hobbit

Image

Even on the previous Saruman´s versions GW made a slight mistake that despite not noticed at 1st it is actually strongly represented in the movie one, the black eyebrows

Image

Heres some pics of the actually Saruman from the movie, he always complained Gandalf for smoking 2 much pipeweed, but it seems his beard reveals something that only bearded people that smoke get it :P do you noticed saruman´s beard is more white than the hobbit version although the mustache and beneath the lips its way more black despite in small amount then anyother wizard :P

and this following bust, represents a pretty more realistic face of the actually saruman we used to see.

I've one I started to re-do, if it's any use ( I don't know what level your painting is at). It's about 70% finished, but I haven't gone back to it in a while. viewtopic.php?f=50&t=24432&start=100

Looks good already. You can clearly see the resemblance. Pity GW did such a lazy job on theirs, it's a great sculpt.

OK heres saruman Almost finished, just need some cloak highlights and some depths as well... I used white undercoat thats why his colours dont look so deeper, I tryed this method but I prefer black undercoat and/or grey for numerous reasons specially with depth feeling.
