Guess it's about time to begin a WIP thread myself to showcase my meager efforts. Christmas 2009 I got the MoM box to play with my daughter, to whom I had just read LotR and who enjoyed it thoroughly. These were the first minis I painted.

Too lazy to base the goblins, but with the heroes I experimented with green tea:

We've played many memorable battles, both the MoM scenarios and with the official rules. She's still laughing of the game that ended with the troll stuffing Frodo down the well.

And since this is a WIP thread, here's part of my backlog: 12 orcs from a BGiME mag, and the guy who's destined to lead them:

Good work so far 8) I like the Orc you're using as a leader, where's he from?

He's an old Mithril Miniatures Mordor Orc from this pack, I got his spear-armed blister buddy too. He used to have a kite shield with the eye sign, but it has got lost during the years in my mini box. I think I'll give him one from the Warg Riders' box.

Which reminds me, I have the Witch King from Mithril too, but his mace is missing. What'd be the best way to get him re-armed and brought to battlefield?

Here's this weekend's labor, six dwarves and three Isengard Raiders, waiting for dipping. Similar color scheme was quite a timesaver. :)

I'm sure if you search online you will find some spare weapons, maybe check eBay etc. I like your new models (the Dwarves and Uruk-hai scouts).

Happy hunting!

If you like your little ladies with beard. :) The angle makes his cheeks look rounder than they are. The miniature is also quite heavy, guess it's back from the good old times when Ral Partha used lead and none of these wussy white metal alloys.

Now, if I could find a suitably seedy looking human in my minis box for Wormtongue...

She's nine, and Team Red is mostly her handiwork. :)

Well congratulations to her! My sister is nine and she has only painted one Space Marine from 40k but that's really easy (she isn't interested in collecting or painting, she just wants to game with me).

And I hope your daughter sees these comments as it will only spur her on to do more work and keep practicing. :)

I relayed your regards and got a big smile from her. Thanks! :) Looks like we're playing a game tonight...

No worries mate! Good luck for your game tonight. We played the Mines of Moria board at Games Workshop (me and my sister) and she played as the goblins five times and she won four times. :(. That's what happens if heroes ain't allowed to use Might, Will & Fate!

My daughter refuses to play goblins, she doesn't want to kill hobbits. But her dwarves are mean.

My sister loves the goblins, and unfortunately apart from Durburz, a Mordor Orc, a Ringwraith and an Aragorn model that's all I have, meaning we can't play games.

Do you have any figures you could show us, just to keep this on topic. ;)
