Introduction:
My local store manager said they'd be holding Battle Companies in two or three weeks time (whichever isn't Easter), so I thought I'd prepare some of my own battle companies for battle, to give me something to choose from. I'll be posting conversions and the finished models here. This post will be used for keeping the links in, and help organise the thread.

A couple of tips for using the texture paints:
- Use them before you paint the model, as they can be quite messy (as my Morannon Orcs now know).
- Drybrush them with a lighter colour, makes it look so much better, or wash them with a darker colour.

Thanks, I'm not sure yet, I think it'll be a campaign, but I wasn't really told what's happening other than they'll be doing Battle Companies

Aye, a quarter of your dwarves are metal? No Dwarf Hornblower? Funny that Gimli is one of the painted and Murin and Drar are not. No Kings Champions any time soon?

Yep, a quarter are metal Dwarves (and then a third of them are heroes). No Hornblower yet, I need to pick up the command box, as I want another captain, a shieldbearer, a Hornblower and another banner. I'm not sure if I'll get King's Champion, I want to get Iron Guard first. How is it funny that Gimli is painted but Murin and Drár aren't?

Funny because Gimli is canon and popular, but the two two are unloved in general IMO. You shoulf get Iron Guard for SBG, the Champion is nice if you want to think on it.

Next time I see Iron Guard in a shop, I'll be buying them, a Great Beast, or a Dragon. The King's Champion I'm still not sure on.
I like Murin and Drar, just Gimli is cheaper points-wise (I play smaller games), but I may be painting them this month. They could work quite well in a warband of 5 shields, 5 bows and a banner/hornblower...

I've also added a poll for everyone to choose what I paint next

As I'll be painting Ashrak the Spiderkin next, I thought I'd do a review for all those interested:

|Well personally, I hate the model and everything it supposedly represents, but it could be good at getting female players to buy it as some of them think he looks cute.

Nice review all the same, and goood luck with the painting.
