As far as I can tell, all the paint is in the right place and you have succesfully grasped the concept of highling!

I guess the next step would be playing a bit with washes, to give a bit more shadow and blending..

Keep up the good work!

Thanks. I've been using washes before my highlights. On Faramir I painted his armor with Dwarf Bronze, then Blotgun. Washed with Badab Black. Highlighted with Chaintmail, then did a few with Mithril Silver, mostly on the tree on his chest. The best highlights were on his tunic. Royal Blue, then building up to some blue i cant remember which. I'm finding it harder than i thought. Its a real patience thing. And i wont even get into eyes on these guys who have helmets on... :?

You're right, Im half blind lal! I was too focused on the face
Maybe you could try a bit flesh wash (i think it has changed name over the years), on the face..
Also, you could try putting some gold in the top of the saddle and in the front of the helmet, to make him look more noble..

You've done a very good job, I'm just telling some ideas.. The shield is a nice addition aswell! 8)

haha, thanks. Eyes and the face are my downfall. I have some facewash. I dont think i used enough or i highlighted over it. i realized after the face that his beard needs some dimension. ill have to add some highlights. thanks for the tip on the gold.

also got some Reaper paints! woot!

I'm going to work on this guys pretty slowly. This will be my biggest piece to date, my cave trolls were pretty close, but easier than this. since I'm going to make him for my Isengard army I'm going to try to magnetize his hands so i can swap out his spear or sword as i please. Going to be my first attempt at magnets, should be fun and challenging!

any tips on magnets would be great!

A friend magnetized the armor also. The troll could act as a drummer as well. 8)
