My next project is Sauron with Elendil and Isildur. A bit smaller than my last one and hopefully won't take as long.
The three figures and in fixed poses that offers little conversion opportunity and to be honest I don't think I will be. I was mainly wondering on the base and what sort of scenery would set this diorama off. I'm placing them on an 80mm round base which sets all three on nicely with a little room for extras. I could go larger if the idea warrants it.
All suggestions are welcome.

Sacrilege - I hope to prove you wrong but I hope it will be worth the wait, however long it takes......

I've got them all base coated and made the first steps with Sauron. I've done the armour so far.
Ive tried to represent the light coming from the left as you look at the front shot photo.
I'm fairly pleased but any C & C are welcome

I've found Sauron fairly quick to do. I've just got his cloak left, so for me that's good progress. I will be looking for a hint of green using a mix of black and vomit brown or bubonic brown to give that appearance. However the highlights will be subtle.

Nice work on the eyes. Adds some depth to the face. I can tell that some evil is lurking behind all that shiney armour!!

Thanks Sid. After highlighting as normal up to Mithril silver I applied a series of glazes then touch ups to the highlight. The final glaze was a watered down scorched brown

Thanks for noticing the eyes. On closer inspection I'm not that happy with then. I will revisit them to get some better definition.

This sounds like a fun project, lets hope it doesn't take too long this time :) Sauron's coming along nicely, he's a really fun miniature to paint.

I like the look of the armour and will pinch the glaze tip for a couple of my own fellas as it is really effective 8)

To give you the full run down, I blended up to Mithril Silver at the highest points then used a Chestnut and magenta ink glaze over the shoulders and groin. Next was a glaze of gryphonnia sephia. I reapplied Mithril silver then shaded further with glazes on Devlan Mud and Badad Black in the darkest places. The final touch was the glaze of heavily watered down scorched brown which all over the armour.

I've made a start on Isildur. I've worked giving him a startled / shocked expression

Nice idea.

I'm away this weekend but I expect to have all the figure painting done in the next few days. I've got the base on order which is an 80mm round. So I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas how I should go about displaying the three together and what sort of scenery I should go for. I have some ideas but I will see what you think at first.
