I'm a bit disappointed by the final result on him, since I desired to do much better, but well... I'm still in a process of improving my skills and I'll have to learn from all the mistakes I do along the way

Cloak looks great, you seem to do well with highlighting the very difficult black. The red robes need another highlight or two right down the middle of the raised folds. Nice touches with the freehand gold. I think you are ready to start using glazes to extend the contrast, that also includes using warm and cold colours. |

Thanks Mally. I never quite understood the using of glazes, but I think its time for me to go buy some. There's no better way to learn than starting to use them

No Jimmy, don't buy them, use your existing paints and thin them more. Next to no paint on the brush and slowly build your layers. The general idea is you apply a layer of paint and notice the slightest change in colour, you can also see the paint dry as your stroke finishes, that is how little paint you have on your brush. Haha my first instinct when i saw the pink version was: what did he do to that cake? It looks nice though all painted up, what material did you make it from? |

You've done a great job with the painting and the debris lying about. I have to say though that the brickwork looks a little hurried, a bit more time spent getting this right would have made this look excellent. To add to the weathering you can take some chunks out of the brickwork and the paving. Once painted up to the standard you have then they will really look good. A few green washes in the corners and down the sides on the building will give a moss look. |

Ahahah A clay tasted cake  The material used for the texture was hobby clay (used for sculpture). It's pretty cool since you can sculpt it the way you want and, when dried, it adheres to the foundation pretty nicely, no glue needed. It's perfect for making roads

Beginner's mistake I guess. My sore back and lack of patience after some hours spent made the trick... The weathering tips are awesome!! I'll certainly make use of them in here, particularly the green wash one Thank you

As the washes are thinned you can go quiet bright in your colour choice. One of my favourites for a fresh moss is VMC Golden Olive. If you check my three trolls diorama, that is what you see dotted about the floor and on the fallen tree. VMC USA Olive Drab is a good dark choice. |

I don't have those washes, but I'm sure my Vgc green wash mixed with a bit of yellow would do fine
