I like your Kili. The attention to details is great.

Done with my latest mini - Balin. Very happy with him, although the red on his sleeves looks more popping in person than it does in these photos.

Really nice and love the bases. How did you make/get the single flowers?

Thanks, the flowers are pretty easy to do.

So, I'm not sure if other people around here know of better methods, but I found a guide that described a simple method which I think is relatively easy to execute.

I take an old toothbrush, and cut off the bristles. These bristles will serve as the stem.

I put the bristles on a piece of scrap cardboard, and with an old brush, undercoat them in black. Then I paint them with dark green, wash them with green ink, and highlight them with a brighter green.

Once the entire bristle is green (make sure not to leave unpainted parts), I grab them with a pair of pliers and glue them to the base. Then I dab a little bit of glue on the top and stick flower material onto the glue to create the petals.

Hope that helps.

Took me a long time, but I finally got back in the saddle and finished Dori.

Thanks! I used the Tale of Painters guide with some minor deviations.

Hello all. It's been a long time since I've posted in this thread. This is the first mini I've completed in several years. It's plastic Gloin, from the "Escape from Goblin Town" set.

Hello everyone! It's been too long since I lasted posted here, but I'm hoping to increase my mini painting productivity this summer.

I took a stab at Legolas from the "Heroes of Helm's Deep" set. I'm pretty happy with the results but always appreciate constructive feedback and advice.

Saw this also on Reddit, thanks for posting here also, makes it easier to go back and look at to get inspiration.

only comment I would make (and only because I'm anal about it on my figures) is to clean up the edges of the base some.
