Hi all, long time lurker, finally registered and wishing to contribute to a brilliant forum based on an even better topic.

I recently left work to go back to college and I decided to start up my commission painting service again. This is so I could earn a few pennies to put toward more plastic and metal crack and to drum up a little bit of interest (and just share my WIP and collection in general).

Last week I completed a mumak on commission for a friend,it's one he rescued from eBay and so was missing a few parts (nothing significant) he asked me to fix up what was left and get it painted so I did;

and I've started to take photos of the rest of my collection, here's my men of Numenor;

here's my blog

http://blitzkriegbrushes.blogspot.co.uk/

the plan is to update this fairly regularly, along with the blog, at least a couple of times a week with various pictures, tutorials, videos and so on, if anyone has any suggestions for things they'd like to see I'd love to hear them.

Thanks for the kind words guys, they're much appreciated!

Today I'm showing off the elven part of the last alliance, I've got about a third of them painted and they're some of my favourite lotr models, I'm looking forward to Elrond and Gil Galad hitting the painting table (eventually...)

Wow you are such a fast painter. Those high elves look fantastic, good work indeed. Waiting to see more wood elves.

How are you painting the gold on your High Elves? Also, any chance of a close-up?

Post subject:  Re: Blitzkrieg Brushes WIP

the gold is quite laborious but as it's one of the larger parts I suppose it's worth the effort, here's how i do it;

Gold

balthasar gold
coelia greenshade
gehennas gold
auric armour gold
wash agrax earthshade
coelia greenshade
auric armour gold
riekland fleshshade

I kid you not but as far as I'm concerned that's the best way I've found to do it.

Today's blogpost was just visually cataloging my collection, I had them out the table so I could take stock of what I had and want and I love looking at other peoples collections so as I had it out I thought I'd take a few snaps.

as usual there's more on the blog including some shots of my collection of evil, now I just need to work on making more of it painted!

I've also been commissioned to paint Theoden, I did the bulk of the work tonight, just the finer details to go, I should have that to show you all tomorrow evening all being well.

I think you need to do some proper close ups of your figures. The painting looks good but I can't really see how good. Galadriel looks one for a closer viewing, the blue tones are interesting.

I will be doing just that over the next couple of weeks :)

I painted Theoden for a friend over the last couple of evenings, I'm fairly please with how he turned out though in my opinion the photos dont pick out the subtle highlights on things like the face but my mate likes it and that's all that counts.

I sum up my thought and feelings about the model and the character of Theoden on my blog

only just finished them today (they needed basing) but they were painted after college one afternoon, Celeborn took longer than Galadriel as you might expect, these are two of my favourite lotr sculpts so I hope you like them too :).

Any comments or critique welcome as always and as always there are more photos on my blog and website

Nice work.
For an Elven face, particularly Galadriel you need to have a fairer complexion, not such extreme shading. This link will give you an idea of how to paint a females face.

I think you can push the highlights on Galadriels cloak to almost pure white on the highests spots. VMC Ivory is a good choice as it doesn't go grainy when thinned as a glaze.

I wasn't going to blog today but I finished the wood elves yesterday evening and spotted a blog today that I wanted to share so I thought what the heck

just the 8 archers in the back but that's all 24 now finished (and they look better as a group), moving on to the Galadhrim!
